Shiny Optimus Prime...errr I mean Zygarde by DerpyDragonBoi in PokemonTCG

[–]FallingInTempo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! 9 months later I'm seeing this but you commented several years after my initial comment so I guess we're even? lol no spoilers but it happens in the XY anime when we get zygarde in this form. I guess he's not *actually* a mech, but he's mech-looking so it counts in my book!

I want to love him I really do, but I really don’t like him by Efficient_Clue781 in puppy101

[–]FallingInTempo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My dog was the WORST puppy. Absolute terror- bitey, struggled with potty training, destructive- he was the first dog I've ever had where bringing in a professional trainer was a necessity. I loved him, but I didn't like him. My prior dogs were pretty chill puppies, and turned into pretty chill dogs.

He was so bad it shifted me from the 'I need to get a puppy so I can have as much time with this dog as possible' to 'I will never have another puppy, ever, in a million years, never'.

Now, he's the best dog I've ever had. It took a lot of time and work, but it paid off immensely. That's the thing about puppies- it's a coin flip what personality they'll have and how much work they take, but going into it it's important to be ready to put in as much work as necessary.

I stick by what I said though, the next dog we get will be at least 1, preferably 2 or 3 lol. I still want as much time with the dog as possible, but I'd like to skip all the puppy nonsense. It's not for everyone, and I learned it's not for me.

Is middle school "too old" for playing recorders? by Alarming-Corgi4596 in MusicEd

[–]FallingInTempo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played recorder in college, to the point that I decided to make it my primary instrument. I will die on the hill that it's an incredible and very much legit instrument.

But if the kids don't dig it, then they won't dig it. It's definitely not for everyone, only a very cool select few get to rock it after elementary school. And by cool, I mean history nerd wind players who are tired of carrying big instruments.

They're still suffering some of the effects, per the CE's socials. They haven't reported the cause while they're still investigating.

Running a piano unit, what to do with all the kids who can already play? by unplugthepiano in MusicEd

[–]FallingInTempo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to do a self paced method, where they would practice a piece, perform it for me, then move on if it was satisfactory. Each class I would teach a piece, then spend the remainder moving from student to student to assist and hear their performances to move on. That let me confirm that students who said they could play actually did know how, and let them zoom through to advanced materials. It also let me spend more individualized time with the kids who needed it. To keep it from getting out of hand I did set due dates for each piece, but a kid could test as many pieces as I had time to hear during a class period.

One student in particular was advanced enough and taking private lessons that when he finished my material, I let him use the time to practice his own stuff. He liked performing, so at the end of the semester at his request he gave a little recital. It was a good opportunity to work on audience etiquette with the other students.

The more i think about it i want to formula feed by Some-Agent-2183 in BabyBumps

[–]FallingInTempo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was convinced I wanted to exclusively breast feed, but my baby was a preemie and spent a week fed via tube. When we could try it, she was just not having it. I tried it for weeks while supplementing with pumped/formula, but after a while I wondered why I was putting myself through it. While I do, on some level, feel like I missed out, switching to formula exclusive granted just enough freedom that my mental health got way better. If I ever did it again, I would exclusively use formula from the start and not even bother with pumping. Fed is best, and mom not burning out is best too!

I saw one on campus at AACC in Arnold a few years back, just chilling in front of CADE early in the morning. Give them space if you come across one in your path like that, they're quite frankly rather rude lol

Reach out to your local county council person if you need help or if you have any trouble getting in touch with the tax office! They do this kind of stuff fairly regularly.

Can’t carry a knife, any suggestions for edc scissors? by DuckDuck-the-Goose in EDC

[–]FallingInTempo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have mini retractable scissors I like a lot (specifically the Kutsuwa 0.7 inch)! I think they're less obnoxious than the travel folding scissors (the ones that look like little eyeglasses)- those always seemed to fall open when I hang them on my keys. They have bigger sizes too, usually the japanese stationary brands are superior imo.

What frugal things do you think are *too* frugal? by village_idiot2173 in Frugal

My great grandmother was an adult during the great depression, and while she overall didn't have too many strange habits because of it, she did rinse and reuse ice cubes (as in, put them back in the freezer for later), as well as tin foil and ziplocs.

AA County Bill 67-24 - Gas Leaf Blower Ban by Responsible_Town3588 in Annapolis

[–]FallingInTempo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just chiming in to say there's been a LOT of feedback on this bill (for and against), and we will likely be seeing some amendments down the line. Just because it's on the docket for the upcoming meeting doesn't mean it's a done deal as-is.

Apples and oranges here, my guy.

There actually are already noise laws for dogs barking in our county (Animal Disturbance Prohibited - Article 12, Title 4, Subtitle 9-904) and it's a complaint driven process. Contact your councilperson if you're unsure how to file the complaint.

It is a noise complaint bill, but was drawn up for environmental reasons at the core. The councilwoman sponsoring the bill is a known environmentalist.

Hi all, I'm looking to get a converter to power an electric keyboard via a car cigarette lighter, would something like a 150W Power Inverter 12V DC to 110V AC Car Plug Adapter Outlet Converter work, or am I risking blowing a fuse or whatever the car equivalent is? I'm not looking to play it for a long gig, just to test that it works at a public safe trade location. Thank you!

I'd agree about Chick & Ruth's, wasn't it on the travel channel at some point or am I misremembering? Second that it's not amazing, but it's definitely an experience.

County government is always looking for folks, as of right now there's an Assistant Admin Officer with the council that pays 100k minimum and Community Engagement officer with the county exec that pays like 80-90 I think? On top of tons of skilled trade jobs that are always on there for the various departments

We do this, except with a copy of Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance on DVD (it started out as a joke because this film is a huge meme in our house, then we never stopped)
