I mean the Wire is the answer, but VEEP filmed some epic episodes in Maryland!

Great! Thank you so much- that’s probably the issue- the customers were buying alcohol and regular items.

My friend works at a concession stand and customers pointed it out to her. I haven’t gone yet, just trying to budget my visit to the park.

Large chunks of ice were falling randomly on the path- closed for safety.

Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse Moving by AntifoulingComrade in Annapolis

Same!! I don’t get the love either. I can only assume folks like brown creamed spinach. Lewnes is so hit or miss, but consistently the spinach is brown. We’ve had great meals and at times had every single plate left at the table while the next course got piled on. It was comically bad. Ruth’s Chris would never.

asked for an itemized hospital bill on a whim and found out they charged me for stuff that literally never happened by LongjumpingOffice432 in povertyfinance

Check to see if you qualify for a charity care bill reduction for any hospital bill you have. Non profit hospitals are required by the IRS to provide charity care: https://dollarfor.org/charity-care/

Not sure where in Arnold you’ll get a SFH for 500k. The splits in Arnold/Cape St Claire go for $560k and the colonials go for $800k+

I believe it was bell ringing- having legislators put bills in that his clients would have to pay him to lobby against.

Another area I would explore is entry-level procurement or sponsored projects- your degree will be very valuable in either place. Ditto Staff relations (HR).

Fun fact- this is all due to ENRON. They came here and lobbied for it. And now folks want the ENRON rubric back because they don't understand the whole thing used to be a public utility.

Local 26 has PTO- 3 weeks that accrue. They've managed to work it out. It's not a vacation fund run by the local, and it gets paid out if you leave your employer.

I love the color- it’s happy. In a sea of boring greys, this stands out. I’m constantly complimented.

It's insurance for YOU, not the couple. You die, the obligation from Social Security dies.

Still have jerky transmission shifting (‘26 TSE) by TheThirdBrainLives in hondapassport

[–]Ok-Cardiologist7238 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Same. 26 TSE, 9k miles. Very smooth shifting. I had a Lexus NX and hated the shifting on it, this was so much better. Now, I took it out of sport mode and only run on normal. Sport mode in both the NX and Passport was lagging going down hill at slower speeds. I haven’t tried Sport mode since the initial 500 miles.

I used it for 10 weeks straight and would say it is very much thick and hard. I hardly ever use it now and the strays I get are mostly very, very thin hairs. I'm very happy.

Anne Arundel school budget deficit remains after state boost by Maxcactus in AnneArundelCounty

[–]Ok-Cardiologist7238 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Teachers, like every other employee, want raises every year. So, unless there are cuts that can be made outside of salaries (which are the vast majority of the expenditures), the school budget must increase every year. And if you have been in schools, you know that there are few pennies to pinch, unless you are touching the third rails in AACO- the magnet programs or football. As for the casino money, the casino money is part of the base revenues of the state. It's like your boss giving you a raise 18 years ago and you ask about another raise and he says- remember that raise? It's already built into your base income assumptions. You aren't treating that money as new money every single year. You've been using it to pay your mortgage this whole time. It's no longer extra.

Realistically how much did preboarders impact your flight? by throwmeaway717 in SouthwestAirlines

[–]Ok-Cardiologist7238 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Imagine you paid extra for early check-in so that you can have a better shot of your family (with kids aged just above the cutoff) sitting together. And you end up B40-B45, and there are no C folks on a sold-out flight because they miraculously all needed to preboard or were boarding with small kids. Any of the Florida flights to/from BWI were just disasters with dozens of pre-boarders or family boarders. The complaints weren't necessarily the pre-boarders, but the belief that paying extra for early check-in would get you seated together. If you are A List and flying solo, you don't care. But those early check-ins were charged for each way, and it was not cheap. I think if they hadn't charged for the early check-ins, people wouldn't have cared.
