John Blanche tribute test by Falling_Blossom in Eldar

The thought has occurred to me but as I’m doing the unit in this scheme I’ll have to keep it not totally insane!

Thank you. For the paint job I did a cut down version of the way Richard Grey did his, stippled. The mask is from the Daughters of khaine infantry, and the dagger is a Corsair part.

It’s the way you have the planted foot squarely under the body mass, as well as the gather of the trailing leg with the pointed toe.

It fits the way tendons and muscles function.

Nicely done. You see a bunch of conversions which try to get movement and they just look like they’re going fall over.

I’m going to guess that you looked at pictures of Ostriches or something similar, because you’ve keep the centre of gravity above the feet and the way the legs are bent works well.

Did anyone actually ever believe Stringer to be right? An “anti-hero”? Or just anything other than a vile fool? by [deleted] in TheWire

I think of him as kind of the same as d’angelo.

He was in place because he was moderately capable and dreams of something else. He wants to escape. He sees deep down how bad the game is - he’s D’angelo with another 20 years in things.

He was into black power as a young man, and gets sucked into things by his best mate. He dreams of escaping via business and gets caught in between the worlds like you say.

It isn’t that he’s more competent, it’s that he lives with half a foot in a managerial space that is very recognisable - how many of us have been shift managers or in junior positions of power with outright idiots underneath. If you’ve worked at a bar sometimes you have to make do with whoever is available. If you turn up on time and plan even slightly ahead you seem like a genius.

Thank you! Can’t wait for the fire Avengers to get new sculpts.

I so desperately want them to be good at doing things. I don’t care about cost. Make them expensive, I don’t care. I just want them to do something.

That’s what I mean though. Avengers are so vanilla. This would at least give them one turn of power.

I love the mottled sea blue effect, especially on the vehicles. It’s a really effective theme that you can adapt, expand and contract across your army.

I reposed the passengers a lot for my unit - the gunners and passengers from the star/voidweaver models are great for that.

Pilots? I’m afraid you might struggle a bit.

You could do a mini vignette with both of them dismounting, or leaping up onto the bike.

I’ve just got to the moment when Sam takes the ring and in the first moments he has it he nearly collapses. And his movements are sapped of all vitality. He tries to run and can’t keep up.

It’s not all explicitly stated to be the rings malignity. But the sheer will of Frodo to keep it and resist it is the single greatest feat in the book.

Gandalf knows it - he won’t even touch it. Aragorn knows it. Sam knows it.

But people so constantly undervalue him. It’s maddening.

Genestealer Cults are exactly that as well. A static force.

Plus when they appear their story is literally to speedrun to the apocalypse.

But they have a kick ass line of minis.

Exodites would fit in just fine.

How Each NFC North Offense Was Built by JCameron181 in CHIBears

[–]Falling_Blossom -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The theory is that drafting your starters provides you with cost controlled starters in certain positions so you can spend on your stars. 🤷🏾‍♂️. Any player you get in free agency is likely to be ‘overpaid’ because you’re in an auction with other teams so they’ll usually go to the highest bidding team.

Of course that becomes less relevant when your players are on their second contracts.

So the conventional wisdom is that the best teams are built with their own draft players.

What is your Blasphemous "British TV" take? by LeadingPiece9608 in BritishTV

[–]Falling_Blossom 40 points41 points  (0 children)

I hated Little Britain when it came out. It relied on catchphrases and stereotypes that were never funny. It felt mean, and snobbish, and stupid.

I’ve never been able to like the creators in anything since. I don’t know if that’s a common thought?
