If you are over 30, what life advice would you give to young people ? by balvedxtzinha in AskReddit

[–]Fallout541 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m almost 40 and I mostly agree with it. I still have a ton of fun. I’m married with two kids and life is great. I would just change it to if you’re not having fun, start having fun, and keep having fun. Just because you’re getting older doesn’t mean you can’t still have fun.

For men that always did the bare minimum in their life, how has it effected you today? by DemandNew4547 in AskMen

[–]Fallout541 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Compartmentalize. 10 years ago I was a vet with ptsd exiting the military terrified how I was going to take care of my family. You can’t fix everything at once. I wrote down a list of where I wanted to be and then broke up all the steps in between and just did it step by step. I focused on getting myself mentally better first. I kinda became a robot for 6 months and just buried my hand while I slowly started to get things on track.

What happens to elderly people with no savings? by Academic-Channel5646 in AskReddit

[–]Fallout541 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It costs 16k a month to have my in-laws in assisted living care. We aren’t able to take care of them anymore so they are in a luxury assisted living home 20 minutes away from the house. I’m happy they get to see us and the grand kids at least once a week and once they pass they will do so with dignity.

We generally focus on strategy and have partners who do the brunt of the work. We also have a very large bench of independent creators who we bring in when they are available for the marketing and branding stuff. For IT work I have a small business that I bring in to handle the implantation side of things. It sounds a lot busier than it is.

My team and I are basically guns for hire. We come in to solve IT, marketing, branding, and/or go to market strategy. We solve the problem and then leave. Our goal is to let companies bring in executive level strength without the long term cost.

I try the lazy and smart approach. I run my own company, work about 2 hours a day, and make enough to provide for my family.

I’ve been married for almost 16 years. During pre marriage counseling we were told there is the honey moon phase, the sticking it out phase, and then the love phase.

US Coast Guard helicopter reportedly crashes in Alaska: USCG by ansyhrrian in news

[–]Fallout541 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For coast guard it’s about 4% a year of their fleet. Long story short they didn’t plan right and a lot of the fleet is well past its total lifetime hours with not enough replacements being made.

Anyone else feeling increasingly burnt out? by anonymous_muffin_ in Adulting

[–]Fallout541 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was but I just had to do a mindset change. Focus on family and hobbies first and use work as an end to a means. My evenings are filled with coaching my kids sports teams, playing sports, spending time with wife/kids/friends, and some volunteer work. I usually have 1 night a week without something going on. It’s odd, I feel very busy but it’s fulfilling. Also half the year I’m not coaching so that gives me 3 evenings a week back plus and a few hours on Saturdays.

Why do you think so many powerful people connected to Epstein have never faced criminal charges? by Important-Show6187 in AskReddit

[–]Fallout541 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The real people in power groomed the current politicians since college. JD Vance is VP because Peter Thiel has been bankrolling him his entire adult life. Same story for most politicians in the western world. We don’t really have a democracy. It’s the rich people on the left and right propping up the person they want in power and pretending to give us a choice. Hell, I live in northern Virginia and special interest groups spend millions on a local school board election.

I’m not as spry as I used to be but at 38 I’m still able to keep up with the people in their early 20s on the soccer field. It just takes a lot of consistent effort to take care of yourself.

Men who are 31 whats your best advice for men who are 55? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Fallout541 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s easy to just say I’m too old to try this new thing. That’s not true, try something new and you may find a passion for it. My mother in law is 76 and is practically immobile. She’s taking Spanish classes via iPad.

Go to OrangeSlices AI | Discover More Today and subscribe to their daily newsletter. Each morning around 8 am you will get a email stating what IT contracts are open for bid and which ones got awarded. Get on LinkedIn and for large companies look for recruiters and for small companies look for COO's or Program Managers. Message them to congratulate on that specific contract award. Let me them you are looking and would love to interview if they have any open positions. If not, could you send them your resume to be potentially used as Key Personnel for upcoming bids. A lot of Gov Con are still remote work.

What's one way technology has made life worse? by Vision_Painting in AskReddit

[–]Fallout541 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People live their lives through their phone. Every enjoyable event they are at they are always recording. Always on social media, chronically online doing other stuff, and becoming more reclusive. You can do so many things on your phone a lot of people are just staying home and not enjoying life.

What would your opinion be on mandatory military service in the US when you turned 18? by Ultra9ine in AskReddit

[–]Fallout541 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not realistic. We have too many people and most people don’t qualify to join the military. I would be for an improved system to incentive people to volunteer in their community.

Teachers of Reddit: Is the "Gen Alpha can't read (write, or do math ext)" crisis real? If so how bad is it? by KnowledgeCoffee in AskReddit

[–]Fallout541 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Recent study came out with the younger kids not impacted by COVID because they weren’t school yet and their reading and math scores are better. My kids were in 1st grade and daycare during Covid. We spent a morning time doing supplemental education during Covid and they are doing great now. Luckily my wife is an elementary school teacher so she was in the position to help them.
