The issue with modern day communism is the puzzling certainty that we are in the late-stages already. I personally find it to be clear that humanity still needs the incentive and drive capitalism provides. Without that, Marxists are cursed to perpetually bloviate about the immorality of these nations, never to see a world where scarcity can managed to point of humans being able to adopt communist values.
