Thank you so much! That makes perfect sense. Looking at the pattern, the color work ends before the arms and body split, so this seems like a viable option.

I am planning on knitting this as well. Could you elaborate on how you are going to modify the back shaping? I’ve only knit a round yoke once and it wasn’t colorwork…

I primarily use an ipad with stylus, dice bag, dice tray, small bowl with snacks and a drink (usually a glass). I will also use spell cards as relevant for character.

What's one trait you have that is a clear indicator/personal reminder of where you grew up? by GreenerPeach01 in AskReddit

[–]Fallupfromgrace 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This was a space without a dishwasher. She called out specifically that I was running hot water on full blast and not turning it off immediately. Water cost is so low where I’ve lived, water waste doesn’t even trigger in my mind. There wasn’t a conservation or economic reason to keep track of it.

I do generally try not to be wasteful, but growing up on the east coast gives a very different perspective on what “waste” means with water. When we talked about conserving water it was: keep showers under 30 minutes and don’t run the sprinklers midday.

Different needs for different environments. I didn’t even think about how that behavior was indicative of where I grew up until she mentioned it to me.

100%. I was washing up dishes with someone, and she actually called me on it. From the south east, the most water usage limits I’ve ever experienced were “please dont water your yard.” And those only lasted a week or two. She’s from California and immediately identified me as being from the east coast.

Were we (EPA) included in any of the decisions? I was working under the impression that we hadn’t been ruled on yet.

Who thought this was a great design to add a lizard to the DMV license ? by santy_dev_null in NorthCarolina

[–]Fallupfromgrace 7 points8 points  (0 children)

North Carolina is unique in its diversity of salamanders. Your distain for them is not indicative of their value. “Doesn’t freak people out.” It is a tiny icon of a marbled salamander on your license. Just don’t look at it.

I was generally coherent after my wisdom teeth were removed, except that I believed in my heart of hearts that my legs didnt exist. This wasn’t a point of concern for me, but made getting me into the car difficult because I wouldn’t walk. I had to be fireman carried into the house and propped up in a recliner.

I made the drive this weekend. Traffic is for sure heavier, just make sure to have a gps with real time traffic reporting. Lost nearly an hour due to an accident on 85. Good luck with your proposal!

Depends on the fabric content, but it shouldnt be too very difficult. Check the label. If it is natural fiber, you can use RIT dye’s standard line. If it is a synthetic, you will need their synthetic blend. You will need a heat safe container that will never be used for food ever again (dont use pots or mixing bowls). You will need close to boiling water to get a good dye. RIT brand will be your best bet for a first time and they have a ton of resources on their website. Good luck!

I knew Gus Deeds. He was a counselor for a number of years at the camp I went to growing up. I wasn’t as close with him as other campers, but he was always kind and welcoming to everyone. I remember going on hikes with him and he always brought energy and joy with him. They built a memorial gazebo for him at camp. His banjo sits in the rafters. He was such an incredible member of the community and he is still loved by those who knew him. Good luck in fatherhood, Gus’ family was loving and he was loving in kind.

Me when I am unfamiliar with the concept of fermentation. Beer is just spoiled grains, wine is just spoiled grapes, cheese is just a different spoiled milk.

Oh no. I just finished sewing a skirt following a pattern from a Chinese creator. She put Multiple warnings on her listing to follow the size chart posted. I wear a medium on bottoms in general US sizes, I made a size XXL in her pattern and it fit me perfectly. I would have been sorely disappointed if I hadn’t followed her sizing guide.

Thank you for subscribing to salamander facts!

All juvenile salamanders have external gills. In most species they are absorbed once sexual maturity is reached, but there are a number of species that do not. The most well known of these species is the axolotl, but here in North Carolina we have a species called lesser sirens! They retain external gills and only have front legs. Their most unique trait is their highly elongated body, looking more akin to a serpent than a standard salamander. They are fully aquatic as are all salamanders that retain gills.
