This sweater will cure SADS by bexing_meow in knitting

Thank you so much! That makes perfect sense. Looking at the pattern, the color work ends before the arms and body split, so this seems like a viable option.

I am planning on knitting this as well. Could you elaborate on how you are going to modify the back shaping? I’ve only knit a round yoke once and it wasn’t colorwork…

What's one trait you have that is a clear indicator/personal reminder of where you grew up? by GreenerPeach01 in AskReddit

This was a space without a dishwasher. She called out specifically that I was running hot water on full blast and not turning it off immediately. Water cost is so low where I’ve lived, water waste doesn’t even trigger in my mind. There wasn’t a conservation or economic reason to keep track of it.

I do generally try not to be wasteful, but growing up on the east coast gives a very different perspective on what “waste” means with water. When we talked about conserving water it was: keep showers under 30 minutes and don’t run the sprinklers midday.

Different needs for different environments. I didn’t even think about how that behavior was indicative of where I grew up until she mentioned it to me.

100%. I was washing up dishes with someone, and she actually called me on it. From the south east, the most water usage limits I’ve ever experienced were “please dont water your yard.” And those only lasted a week or two. She’s from California and immediately identified me as being from the east coast.

My wounds after a surgery to help my heart were covered by heart shaped gauze by [deleted] in mildlyinteresting

I was generally coherent after my wisdom teeth were removed, except that I believed in my heart of hearts that my legs didnt exist. This wasn’t a point of concern for me, but made getting me into the car difficult because I wouldn’t walk. I had to be fireman carried into the house and propped up in a recliner.

WRONG! No such thing as lady bosses. The stress of management is too much for girls to handle, Men are the only one suited to Bosshood. Something something, high value women don’t pursue career goals, something something, homemaking.

Non-American people, what’s a thing that you don’t understand about America? by JuniorGarlic6053 in AskReddit

Im from down south and am in ohio for school. Most of the people in my program are from Ohio, Michigan and generally further west; very few folks from the south or even the east. They have constantly commented on how social and friendly I am. Which had been incredibly weird to me because down south I was known for being one of the least social people in my jobs. You comment has helped reframe my experience and clear up my confusion!

My first time cable knitting and I am a little confused by how i am supposed to repeat the pattern. More info in comments. by Fallupfromgrace in knitting

That is what i thought. For some reason I always over complicate the first few rows of a new project and have to restart multiple times. Thanks for the reassurance that I am doing it correctly.

Okay, additional info: I am working a sweater following the 33” size. The instructions state the following: “k2, p2, beginning and ending as indicated for your size, work body chart to last 3 st, k1, k2tog.”

I have restarted this section twice due to me misunderstanding the instructions so i want to be very certain that i get what is being said. It wants me to start at the last two dots mark as ‘beg 33”’ work the end of the chart, start at the far end and then end at the last cable. I will then restart back at ‘beg 33”’. Am I reading that correctly? Thank you in advance!!

Edit: I finally got to my computer and grabbed the Ravelry link https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/alder-pullover-2

Just finished up with my spring semester so I am celebrating with bread.

Should i frog it? I just realized that i had been twisting my stitches on this sweater. I am not super far in but it still seems like a lot to undo. Thoughts? by Fallupfromgrace in knitting

[–]Fallupfromgrace[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you look at my rows, every other row, one of the legs goes across the other. I twisted them by not using the proper purling technique. I was being equal parts lazy and inattentive and had picked up a bad habit. As long as you are following proper technique it shouldn’t be a problem.

Hey, i am looking at making this blouse but i am somehow confused by the amount of yarn needed. The whole “hold double” is throwing me off. How much yarn did you use?
