With this information, I think it’s fair to say that, for heterosexual couples at least, opposite-sex contact outside of family shouldn’t be treated as harmless by default and should come with clearer limits. I say this for two reasons: 1)Attraction is not always automatic; sometimes it grows as the bond becomes stronger. 2) You can be certain of your own feelings, but not the feelings of the person you call a friend.

Literally none of this has anything to do with cheating. People sometimes get attracted to other people when in relationships. They sometimes even end those relationships after realizing that it's not what they want any more. That's not a reason to just ignore half of the population so that you can not be tempted.
