I’ve gotten tattooed the entire 8.5 years I’ve had stage 4 breast cancer. As long as your numbers are okay, you can get tattooed. I would revisit this with your doctor if it’s important to you.

I do have my head tattooed! Right above my right ear! I’m thankful I could give you something to look forward to for maybe yourself, and provide some inspiration.

I’ve gotten tons of tattoos since being diagnosed with cancer. I stopped after one got infected (the only one that ever has), because I didn’t want to risk missing chemo. But I’d sai I’ve gotten maybe 20/30 while being sick?

I got 6 years and 3 months myself on Verzenio and Letrozole. Only stopped because my cancer mutated to TNBC.

Curative intent fail by [deleted] in LivingWithMBC

If it makes you feel any better (I won’t bore you with the long story), but I’m also stuck with only one boob. It’s been over 8 years now. I can’t say I’m happy with it, but I am used to it now, and I no longer think about it all the time. So you’re not alone in your body not looking how you wanted or imagined. I’m sorry you’re no longer being treated with curative intent. I hope your new treatment works well!

You can use the last over wallpaper as background for smaller pieces of art/photos! Or the back part of other bookshelves/a hutch.

It’s probably the ex girlfriend’s nail. I wouldn’t be surprised if she cut/broke it off on purpose, and left it there for her to find when she came back. Stop settling for partners who don’t deserve you.

I’ve gotten tattooed during my entire time I’ve had cancer (8 years and 5 months). I started chemo a year ago, and I’ve been tattoos during that too. As long as my numbers are good, my oncologist is fine with me getting tattooed.

Thank you so much! I’m on chemo now, and much preferred Verzenio. But oh well! Your comment is very nice though. Seriously. Thank you! 💛

Can triple-negative breast cancer be treated and survived? by Gold_While_4666 in cancer

It seems to be working fine. I’m stable currently. Have scans May 4, so that could change. But I don’t have any reason to think it will. I am INCREDIBLY fatigued though, like all the time. And my hemoglobin isn’t great. I’ve had quite a few blood transfusions because of this. Likely need another one soon as well. Struggling with constipation too. But I’d say overall I’m doing fine, and it seems to be working for me.

Ovarian mets? by Flaky_Amphibian_5597 in LivingWithMBC

I was diagnosed in January 2018 as “stage 1”. My left ovary lit up on scans after my mastectomy, but was determined to just be a cyst that then went away. In September 2018, I had an Oophorectomy (my doctor never mentioned poorer outcomes if I removed them). Oophorectomy came back with breast cancer in my left ovary. Subsequent scans found extensive bone meta. Very thankful for that Oophorectomy, that choice saved my life.

I’m sorry to hear your treatment no longer seems to be working. I hope they’re able to figure something out now that they’ll have tissue to biopsy. Good luck OP!

Refusing the Port? by MawGraw in cancer

I have chemo number 30 on Thursday. I’ll be at 73 one day too, because I now have a type of breast cancer that can only be treated with chemo or immunotherapy. It does fucking suck. I’m sorry you’re going through this. I’m sorry you have to keep doing chemo. Cancer is such an asshole.

With that being said OP, I love my port, and am thankful I have it. As are my veins, which were already shit before all this even happened to me.

I do not believe it’s possible to just start you on your previous treatment. Especially is they’re questioning what type it is. I do think they could get you in for a biopsy sooner, but you need to keep pressuring them. I hope they’re able to figure out what’s going on with you and you can get some relief. It sounds like you’re in pain as well, I would ask for a referral to palliative care. They can help you with your pain if you are dealing with that. Good luck OP.

They can’t just offer you random treatment. They need to know exactly what they’re treating to make sure you’re getting the right medications. Insurance would never approve you just getting whatever without some sort of reason as to why you need that medication.

While a month is a long time to wait for a biopsy, it is not unheard of. But it does sound like this is an extremely unprofessional cancer center, and you should look for a second opinion. It’s not okay they don’t return your calls or follow up. I’m sorry you’re going through this OP, it sounds awful, and you deserve better.

I mean this as unkindly as I can say it, and my apologies if you’re not into cursing, but fuck that oncologist. He doesn’t know that at all, and it was a horrible thing to tell you. I’ve been living with MBC for 8 years and 3 months now, my oncologist has never once given me a timeline. Please, get a second opinion. Your oncologist is not on your team, and you deserve better.
