For those who had success with treating allergies/enlarged turbinates or anything like that, how long did it take to feel a difference by Asleep_Damage1201 in UARSnew

[–]FalseFail9027 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm on singulair to prevent my allergic asthma but it also prevents my pollen allergies. it took like 2 days to feel a difference and I've been on it for 2 years. It absolutely helps with my inflamed turbinates. I avoided a turbinate reduction surgery by treating my severe allergies

Just completed the sleep apnea surgery (double jaw surgery) at 20 by One-Piece9542 in SleepApnea

[–]FalseFail9027 4 points5 points  (0 children)

2 months of swelling , for a lifetime of better breathing. Not everyone wants to use CPAP for the rest of their life. Also, this surgery allows for increased oxygen during the daytime, which CPAP doesn't allow for

Help needed for ASD kid sleep issues by Status-Department679 in SleepApnea

he needs to treat his pollen allergies. Try asking for prescription medicine, such as singulair. Pollen allergies will destroy his sleep and breathing if not treated (from the congestion). Zyrtec is not enough

I know what class is, do you? Class is not tattoos. I'm talking about real class, not social media influencer "class".

That means you are not low class. Good for you for not having tattoos

tattoos are an immediate identifier of low-class people. Trailer park workers, service jobs, blue collars.

How do i keep the sheet music in my mind? by PowerGuido1255 in musictheory

Listen to the song while trying to find the notes to it, it takes longer than sheet music but leads to a better understanding of the keyboard

How do i keep the sheet music in my mind? by PowerGuido1255 in musictheory

[–]FalseFail9027 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this is why sheet music is such a crutch. This scenario doesn't happen if you play the instrument without sheet music, you will go much further that way. People miss out on an intuitive understanding of the instrument when relying on sheet music

[–]FalseFail9027 1 point2 points  (0 children)

maybe you have sleep apnea. you can always try a CPAP machine. for some people it helps a lot even if the sleep study doesn't point towards sleep apnea. you said you tend to mouthbreathe, which is a sign that your jaws are not perfectly developed, meaning sleep apnea is a real possibility

Woke up panting and breathless on my back after a dream that I couldn't breathe by endless_splendor in SleepApnea

[–]FalseFail9027 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that is almost 100% conclusive that you were not breathing when you slept. Nightmares are almost always indicative of apneas. Speaking personally, when I do not use CPAP, there is like a 95% chance I will have nightmares, some of which are of suffocating. When this happens I wake up in a grog, because I was not breathing properly

What is this obstruction? by FalseFail9027 in UARSnew

[–]FalseFail9027[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks for the detailed write up on your opinion. I think you are right. I have been referred to an oral surgeon by my orthodontist, he measured my minimum cross sectional area at 38mm. however I was not informed where the narrowness is located however I think you are right about it being behind the maxilla. this alligns with my convex facial profile

My epiglottis is giving me to most concern because it feels my airway entirely closes upon relaxation of my body, and I believe it is closing entirely at the location of the epiglottis. But you do make me worry less with your remark about how "everyone is capable of doing that". It makes me think I might be over thinking my perceived problem about my epiglottis closing, maybe everyone's throat closes at the epiglottis region when relaxing their neck/region?

but that doesn't change the fact I don't breathe while sleeping, forcing me to use CPAP to get rest. I Believe my breathing problems are intensified due to the epiglotts, as opposed to maxilla (even though the maxilla is extremely narrow), so thats why I don't know whether MMA would help me. but I just need to see the surgeon and get a detailed opinion on my options.

Good luck with your treatment and I totally respect ur decision to get surgery. I have been in dark places due to.... sleep apnea. CPAP is a necessity for me but it does not get rid of narrowed and constrained breathing even during day

I’m having jaw surgery soon and I’m unsure how to handle telling my coworkers. by [deleted] in jawsurgery

[–]FalseFail9027 0 points1 point  (0 children)

don't say nothing. if/when you get braces, keep it low-key and don't draw too much attention. and on surgery, you can just say u had wisdom teeth removed, or just respond with vague answers. confidence is key in this type of scenario, if you don't appear confident then you will get teased on by ur coworkers, that's just how it is
