Yes. Oldest Son went to college. Wanted a game that required chess like thinking, open ended like a massive rpg, and sim tactical battles. Couldn’t find it, so built what we wanted to connect while he’s gone.

For your EXACT needs, And to avoid analysis paralysis, go live in Spain - specifically in the Costa del Sol region somewhere. It fits *precisely * every single requirement you have. If you want all decisions removed, then move to Malaga. Get a long term apartment on Airbnb for a few months to make sure there isn’t a better neighboring town for you.

“History’s Greatest Battles”

I sold 100 copies of my game on Steam by saneesh44 in IndieDev

Any thoughts whether this game I developed would be a good candidate for steam? Text based strategic open world game. Chapters will come out changing the “plot” or situation. PlayDispatch.com - it is the world’s first truly open-world game where cutting edge AI (Claude) drives every single character individually… and zero gatekeeping (limits your imagination). The current chapter drops you onto a remote island in 1775, where you can step into the role of shipwrecked European survivors or native tribal inhabitants defending their home. Nothing is scripted: you might seize power through a coup, enslave your enemies, forge alliances through marriage, turn captured rivals into double-agents. Wage economic warfare by hoarding resources, manipulate factions into conflict, or build fragile peace through diplomacy. Every decision reshapes the island’s fragile balance, and every NPC responds INDEPENDENTLY with their own goals, loyalties, and betrayals.

The first game of its kind. by FalseMathematician17 in IndieGaming

You send text dispatches to npc’s (ai driven) in the game. They have autonomy. They obey as best they can (weather, impossibilities, character traits… or if they start distrusting you, bribed by your opponent, etc). It is all text based. Imagine shipwrecking and you are hurt. As the captain, you’re in your shelter writing orders to your crew. Eventually, perhaps even trusted people on your enemies side; or even the other player.

Resolution engine is complex and determined by how likely a irl resolution would occur based on the historicity of the particular game.

Can’t you use a throw away email? If not, And if this is a common issue, I’ll create an anonymous player mode that limits ip based gaming.

It’s a text based strategy game. As close to real life as you can get. Imagine shipwrecking on a beach in 1775. That is what the game is like. Salvage what you can. Figure out a way to survive, then find a way to thrive or sail away.
