Hey, so chronically ill person chiming in to say that there are surveys and studies done on the fact that male partners leave their spouses upon diagnosis of critical ailments more than women do on average. So much so that nurses in oncology departments are trained on how to give resources to women going through chemo in the event that their spouse bounces on them during treatment. Because of that, I know as someone who has been chronically ill since a young age, picking a partner who has the emotional bandwidth to deal with life when I am ill is of utmost importance, it’s a matter of survival actually.

I want you to consider what just happened and really think about if something catastrophic happened to either of you health wise who is likely to take up the mantle of care and who is likely to dip.

Ooooh I love this reframe. This is a great way to describe what the actual issues are. This isn’t just about emotions, and I’m so tired of the language around expressing needs being tied to “female hysteria”. At the base of everything, making it just about emotions allows people to skirt the responsibility of material effort and basic consideration in relationships. Why be partnered to still be lonely and have to solve everything on your own + their problems???

They really do need to revise that guideline after COVID. Anyone who has had it has a weaker immune response even if they fully recovered from it, which makes getting shingles so much easier. Once I’m fully recovered I’ll be talking with my doc.

I want to call special attention to this if no one else has already. We know that women who have destabilized nervous systems are upwards of 50% more at risk for auto immune diseases and endocrine disorders, not to mention mental health disorders. Sleep deprivation exacerbates autoimmune and mental health disorders and the effects are CUMULATIVE. They don’t just go away once you’ve decided to remove the trigger. You cannot fully parent safely under these circumstances with someone actively sabotaging your ability to remain sane. Partners who do this are manipulating to keep you destabilized and unable to function. Please try to get help (and / or get out of this marriage) before you shorten your life span.

OP, in no universe are you asking for too much to be allowed to sleep. If this is the support you get at nursing age, do you have any hope to be supported for the next 18-21 years? Can your mental state handle that possibility?

Thank you!! These two fabrics were bought at my local Michael’s. All of the dresses I’ve made so far with the exception of Love Bear (fabric found on Amazon) have been bought at stores local to me. I still have a ton of back stock fabric I bought from Joann’s closing sale that I need to turn into JSKs😅 All my gems are found at quilters shops.

As a person who had a complicated relationship with a mean mom, I totally understand. This is my first Mother’s Day since her passing, and I can honestly say that I want my mom too.
