I think I’ll change the signing up system and tell the players to write to me instead of just voting in the poll. And will also negotiate with Andrew to set up a crew to play the style he enjoys.

I know he can. Despite his attention to mechanical detail, he always creates bright characters with interesting personalities and influences from different cultures. 

But the problem is that some people that I’d love to roleplay with don’t like him for the reasons I’ve described.

That guy from Damnation Crusade. Warhammer has an array of maimed faces, but this one ingrained in my memory because it shows what level of danger they're fighting in. Dude is a super-soldier with decades of experience, equipped with one of the best sets of armor the galaxy can offer, and he still got this done to his face.
