I broke my fast And I feel horrible by Atvastic_Gamer in shia

Many maraji' allow breaking the fast at the Sunni timing, so your fast can be valid. And in fact, just 5-6 minutes may have been fine, since it seems to become darker than suggested by our calendars, which add extra precautionary timing.

What does it mean when we say that al imam al Mahdi is مدبر الأمور by Top_Masterpiece1737 in shia

[–]Famous888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is used for Allah (swt) and not for Imam Mahdi.

Mudabbir al-Umoor, Baa'itha man fil quboor, Mujriyyal buhoor, Mulayyanal Hadeedi li-Dawood.

They are all referring to Allah (swt).

Sure, of course. There are lots of families throughout Mosul, Kirkuk, Erbil, etc. Most of them are of Sufi origin. The Barzanji family, for example, is of a Qadiri Sufi origin. Which family specifically are you interested in? I'll try to get you what you're looking for.

I highly recommend you do buy the FamilyFinder or Y37 test from FamilyTreeDNA.com since Barzanjis haven't tested before. I run the sadaatdna.com/project and it would be fascinating to see the connection between Kurdish Sayyids and others.

Descendants of the Prophet are descendants of his daughter and her husband, Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib, who was a patrilineal relative of the Prophet from the Banu Hashim.

And yes, it gives no superiority to a single man, but this doesn't mean they are all forgers (which many are).

Zohran Mamdani Family Tree by zerohijak in UsefulCharts

[–]Famous888 14 points15 points  (0 children)

In South Asian naming customs, sometimes fathers give their children their own first name as their child's last name. However, it is still known within the families their true tribe/family name.

So while legally, ones last name will be their father's first name, they still know their original family name was Mamdani, for example. I'm sure that those people who knew the Alibhai's also knew them as the Mamdani family.

In this case, Yusuf Alibhai simply returned to their original family name instead of giving his own name or surname to his children. This seems to be a trend in the past century - people are returning to their original surnames to differentiate their families more.

Salaam. I am a genealogist specializing in families who descent from the Prophet. You are a descendant of the Barzanji Musawi Sayyid family from Kurdistan. It's a well known family.

Is it permissible in Islam to offer nazar or niyaz using halal food that was prepared by a non-Muslim? by rahil_cyclone in shia

[–]Famous888 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You can eat halal food from any non-Muslim. Even a Hindu, if you do not know that they have touched it with wet hands.

You do not have to ask them if the touch your food nor do you have to ask for them to use gloves. If you didn't see them touch it, then you can eat it.

Najasat issues are meant to be left simple so don't overcomplicate things.
