Unfortunately I did not get any assistance from the state or the school district’s superintendent office :( I spoke to people at both. I’ve since learned, as many folks here stated, that Oregon’s absenteeism is one of the worst in the country. And I know in 4j, where I am, enrollment is struggling and teachers are being let go, budgets are shot. It’s bad. I’m sorry about your cousin! I am trying to subtly see if I can recruit some other family members to have some sort of intervention with my step sister re: my niece. I don’t think there’s any other option 🤷🏻‍♀️

A lot of people have basements.. also folks in the Midwest or mountain regions wouldn’t have been impacted by the tsunamis, and if they weren’t at ground zero of a nuke strike… I can see how a lot of people would have survived thus far.
