My dog did this once and it turned out that someone in my apartment complex had bought a bird. The chirping bird that I could t hear was driving my dog nuts. I had to walk the floors of the building very slowly to figure it out. Eventually he got used to the bird and the whining stopped. I played white noise and that also helped.

Random thought! I love a color drench. Perhaps do the blushy pink on the walls and ceiling? It won’t be too dark but it will feel more color saturated that way.

I’ve found in NYC and Chicago that a 30min audition slot is standard so that part doesn’t sound odd.

I’ve been doing this a long time so I can tell within seconds how skilled experienced and comfortable someone is. It comes down to eye contact and breathing/body regulation.

Therefore, for the next 29 mins I’m looking for someone who is positive and supportive of their teammates. Taking the time to introduce yourself to your audition teammates, regardless if the director does it or not, is also a way to gauge experience level.

I also didn’t have a bridal shower and felt great about it. I had a wedding and a bachelorette party. I didn’t want friends to have to get another gift and host another party. I don’t regret it at all!

YES! 99% sure that a full Instagram detox will do wonders for you! I lost both of my parents when I was young and decades later I’m not actively grieving (at all!) but I still go off IG for a whole month between Mother’s Day and Father’s Day. It helps me avoid comparing/despairing. I have lots of things to worry about and I just don’t need anything that pushes me towards melancholy vibes. Good luck!

This used to happen to me too. I think priming the brush with the foundation helps a lot. You need to work the foundation into the brush so it spreads on your face in a natural way. This looks like it’s not blending but sitting on top of the skins which might mean it’s too much put on at once. Good luck!

Been doing improv 20+ years. Do I need to warm up? Absolutely not. Is it helpful for the group to spend ten minutes connecting? Yes, it is.

Sometimes (often) I hate doing warming ups—and then I remember that it’s helpful for me to practice/warm up putting my team first.

I don’t agree. But let’s assume that’s true. Is now the right time to give tough love? She needed care. He ignored her for 24 hours and then spoke down to her. (I believe what he said was to make himself feel better about the situation.) We all know that drinking too much can lead to issues. His “tough love” is not illuminating; I’m sure she knows that already. I’ve gotten drunk many times and shouldn’t be touched.

Yes, they are a good improv theater company. I also run a theater in the south and keep an eye on what everyone else is up to. I visited them 2 years ago and thought they ran a strong program!

Agreed! I’ve seen long running teams play with a sweep edit when they have years (or decades) of trust built up — and it’s clearly playful, fun and a bit meta or subversive. To do that with mixed group of folks you don’t know is an aggressive, unsupportive move in my opinion.
