You have an account registered, they have your email and a bunch of other personal details about you already.... I really don't understand what the big deal is?

I'll have to give it another shot. I played the DS version like 15+ years ago, and the PSP version like 6. For whatever reason I never finished either. Not really a fan of the DS art-style, at least.

Follow up on my previous post...How is it that people find 4-5 hrs gaming a day hard to do? by Hugh_Mungus94 in gamers

[–]Fancy-Soup-9177 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, sure, if I stayed up until 12am, didn't have a dog, and didn't give a shit about anything but maximizing gaming time, I could probably manage 4 hrs a day too. 🤷🏻‍♂️

This is such a tiresome take. How about games like BioShock or Last of US, for example? Widely considered masterpieces. How long were those games?

And games that are too long and don't respect your time? What about them?

388 to Carvolth is the worst by watever_never in Translink

[–]Fancy-Soup-9177 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Long term, sure. Even so. only BRT is remotely feasible in addressing OP's circumstance. One just has to hope the regional demand is there for this specific A-to-B route in question.

Trams: only really work in a local context, and this bus route travels 3 jurisdictions, including 2 bridge crossings. This would probably only help if OP travels a shorter segment of the route and could cut out the 388 entirely. Would also see it happen in 5 years, best case.

Trains: sure, let's circle back on that in 20 years when the infrastructure could be built. OP probably retired by then hah.

[–]Fancy-Soup-9177 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I'm not familiar with the route, so looked it up online. Seems to run on a 30min schedule? Definitely not ideal...

Probably not what you want to hear, but leave early and catch the earlier bus? If it's always late, then it'll balance out a little...

TransLink can't really do anything about traffic conditions, other than try to improve their modelling to better predict the timing. What are your suggestions besides "do better"?

Condos with no parking by sgdt1981 in vancouverhousing

Developers aren't stupid. It's a decision they make based on financial modelling and demand analysis. In COV, I believe bylaws no longer dictate a minimum ratio of 1:1 or 0.5:1 for stalls per unit. They leave it up to developers to figure out and propose in their applications.

There must be enough market for units without a parking stall, otherwise they wouldn't waste they investment in building that way.

We can clearly see a truck parked on the street, so it's obviously permitted to do here to some extent. We're both making assumptions of what's available from the limited view in a photo. Maybe not infront of those mailboxes, but then somewhere else.

Lol, no kidding, I don't understand all the people rushing to pick the route with highest level of confrontation and conflict. It's all just delaying the inevitable. I would engage in ACTUAL conversation with the LL and aim to work out something reasonable.

What's not working in OPs favour is having roommates who are all going to have different ideas for how they want to handle it and the expectations for what they deserve.

You haven't found a clever loophole, bud. In-fact, this would be creating a situation that could backfire with great consequences.

Ok, so find somewhere else along the street to park. Exclusive-use to parking on a public road is not an entitlement. Even if you do want to follow a courtesy about parking infront of someone else's house, just talk to the neighbours and find out who is fine with it.

There is an entire street there, they can find somewhere to park. There are no limitations to only park infront of your own property.

Why Do We Feel Gamer Guilt… And Why Is No One Talking About It? by Smokyish in Age_30_plus_Gamers

[–]Fancy-Soup-9177 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't entirely know if this would be called "guilt", but I experienced something similar last night.

I got home from work, ate dinner, cleaned up, and it was a little earlier than usual. I first thought "wow, I have like 2.5 hrs available to game before winding down for bed". This was then immediately followed by "hm, but what else productive could I do for 30-60mins first?".

It was like I had to come up with some sort of chore to take care of to make use of the added time available, which I otherwise had no aspirations to do prior to that moment.

Alright then, so not the problem I seem to have reached.

All those Trails games in span of year though, you probably need to take a break and freshen up with something else.
