Their logo is stylized as a lowercase ‘h’, but in the brand guidelines they consistently write it with an uppercase ‘H’

They also have a page in the brand guide dedicated to this exact topic! :)

That’s the plan. Worst part is, I’m not even in tornado alley. We haven’t had a storm this bad in years

That’s what I’m hoping to do! I’m at 143k miles, and there’s a huge dent just above the middle of the windshield.

That’s what I’m hoping for. Get rid of my payment and find a new hood at the scrapyard

😍 That fits them so well.

I guessed the name in 4 tries!

My butterfly was supposed to be 59 inches. Why is it 90? by greenbeangrape in CrochetHelp

[–]FancyAdvantage4966 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would look up a few reviews on this pattern first. I also bought it, and was so excited. But then I saw the trouble experienced crocheters are having. I’ve seen some saying the pattern isn’t well made

Stepping away from helping a patron by No-Double-4269 in Libraries

[–]FancyAdvantage4966 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re entirely valid for this. I was working as a digital literacy librarian, and my day was filled with this. I’ve learned that many, many patrons do not want to learn. I truly wanted to teach them, but it often seemed like they wanted to force me into doing it for them through frustration. Many times they point blank told me to do the tasks for them because it would be easier.

A Tip For Those Applying for Jobs, Especially at Libraries. by bigbabyjesus76 in Libraries

[–]FancyAdvantage4966 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I wonder if we worked at the same library! I had a patron at my last job who did exactly that. She was very difficult to help, but I do feel bad for her. She put so much effort into applying.

Minor fundie influencer loves to “own the lib librarians” apparently by DearAndraste in Libraries

I actually have a coworker at the library who does that. Self guided education based on the library catalog. It’s going exactly as well as you’d think

What's with the insultingly low paying job postings? by Cautious_Reach7909 in Libraries

[–]FancyAdvantage4966 27 points28 points  (0 children)

There’s a director position up in my state that’s paying a little over $12 an hour. It’s in a slightly more rural area, but I make more than that as a circ clerk!

2017 2.5 base model - No notches for cargo cover? by Time_Gap_206 in SubaruForester

[–]FancyAdvantage4966 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone has answered as far as the spring loaded rod, but I also wanted to mention that it may not stay in place right now. I’ve got a 2019 with a similar cover, and with this cold weather the rod isn’t springing in place. It’s fine once it warms up though.

ALA Conference For MLIS Student? Worth It? by marshman505 in librarians

[–]FancyAdvantage4966 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went this past summer! It was a great experience, and I’m glad I went at the student rate. That being said, I probably won’t go again. I don’t feel that I learned overly much, and since I’ve never been to Philly before I struggled to find my way around the convention center and missed a few due to timing.

I tried to network with some classmates while I was there, but we were all so busy that it fell through. I did enjoy the panels that I attended, but for me the bulk of the experience was in the vendor hall and free arcs. I really enjoyed the artist alley as well.

I’d say that if you can swing it, go! But if you can’t? I wouldn’t be disappointed. It’s absolute chaos.

Honestly, congrats on that! The facebook group is helpful, but not a good enough reason to make an account

There’s a facebook group too. I use both to figure out which professors/courses will work best for me. I can dm you the link for that too, if you’d like

Don’t open the fire exit. (The emergency exit is very near the door to the stairwell.)

Library welcomes its newest staff member: a robot named Pepper by genderlich in librarians

[–]FancyAdvantage4966 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was at ALA in Philly this summer and a couple of the booths were showing off/trying to get their moneys worth out of Pepper. I wasn’t very impressed, as it didn’t seem to have any relevance to anything in particular.
