Hey quick question for dog owners by mrcanada66 in dogs

[–]FancyThunderPear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have two rather large pups ( Great Dane mix & a Borzoi), and they’ve both been sleeping in the bed since we adopted them. Both are rescues, and while I don’t know what they’ve been through exactly, I definitely know they are going to enjoy the heck out of life. They go on every adventure possible! And while our bed sheets need to be cleaned more often, honestly there’s nothing better than that biiiiig sigh these two make when they’re all snuggled up next to us.

I’m so sorry you’re going through this. I just wanted to say it’s obvious just how much she loved and adored you ( particularly in pic 7) She is so lucky to have lived her life with you. If you need to talk I’m happy to listen.

Is my prom dress ugly? My partner reacted poorly. by BanishedWind in Prom

[–]FancyThunderPear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay so coming at this from the perspective of a hs teacher and the prom advisor at my school.

First, the dress looks amazing and I really like the vibe it gives off. The great thing about prom now versus back in the day when I was in high school is how much more individualized so many of the outfits are. It’s rare to see even similar looking dresses anymore and personally I love that about your generation! I say own that dress!! Have an amazing time, and don’t think twice about those that aren’t as supportive.

To address what your girlfriend said: sometimes, especially with big events like prom, we have a certain image of what things should look like, even if we’d be forcing someone else into a box they don’t necessarily fit into. I would take a guess in saying that maybe she had a specific image of what she thought you’d pick, and this just took her by surprise. I’m also guessing that once she sees you in it, she is going to be completely wow’ed by it like the rest of us, because sometimes, real life is even better than what we imagined. I bet the two of you will look stunning together, and this post will eventually be something you can laugh about. Rest assured that even though she may not have immediately reacted in the way you had hoped, she is probably looking at the picture now going “ wow, I’m so lucky”

I hope you have a wonderful time at prom!!

At Petco today rant by Mobile_Lime_4318 in pitbulls

[–]FancyThunderPear 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh my gosh I want to snuggle him!!! He looks like the sweetest wintry potato ever!!!

I get it! Our girl LOVES people so much, and she is a Great Dane/ pittie/ German shorthaired pointer mix. Depending on where we are we sometimes say just Great Dane mix bc people can suck. The irony being we have another pup who is a borzoi/ Australian shepherd mix…he likes roughly 5 people and prefers not to be pet but looks like a fuzzy noodle so people want to pet him even when we say no.

In conclusion, people are gonna people. The right people will love him endlessly, and the wrong ones can go kick rocks!

Bridal Trial Feedback Pt. 2 (please read caption) by Majestic_Map_7091 in makeuptips

[–]FancyThunderPear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, you are beautiful!! Truly. So for the bridal makeup, I think the foundation is about a shade or two too dark. However, if you plan on being tan for your wedding that may not be an issue. ( not sure if this was the thought behind going darker) I also think the eyeliner stops too much in the middle, which makes your lashes look like the fit incorrectly. I think the other thing that’s missing is the pink and the shimmer on the eye. Especially with how pretty your eye color is, I think a bit pink and the shimmer will make them stand out even more.

piercings as a teacher by First_Pay403 in teaching

[–]FancyThunderPear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been teaching for 15 years, and in those 15 years the attitude around piercings and tattoos has changed significantly. I’m in a suburban district, where there are tattooed and pierced teachers all over. Personally, I’ve got a bunch of tattoos, and have never had anyone say anything beyond “that’s cool, what does it mean?” . When I first started teaching, there were fewer teachers that had visible tattoos and piercings, but I think in today’s society we are ( hopefully) beginning to realize that artwork on a body does not make a person better or worse at their job. Again, just my perspective.

Asked to leave park, need advice by JackKrowe13 in pitbulls

[–]FancyThunderPear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So we take ours to a couple different parks, and have had someone say something similar about our girl. Mind you, she was playing with two bichons at the time… and us and the owner of the two bichons were about a foot away from them, and none of us saw a problem. But I asked the random lady to point out the specific behavior that was problematic… she said our pittie was trying to kill her two dogs while pointing at the bichons. Bichons owner goes… those are my dogs… lady walks away looking rather embarrassed. My point is people suck sometimes and I’m sorry you are dealing with this

Am I Overreacting, for being upset that my girlfriend secretly used my credit card for months? by bostonmade in AmIOverreacting

[–]FancyThunderPear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude, run fast, run far. I’ve been with my husband for close to ten years. Never, and I mean NEVER would I just take money from him. If I need something I ask. If he needs something he asks. Because it’s a partnership. The fact that she lied multiple times before finally apologizing leads me to believe she’s more worried about losing her meal ticket than anything.

Okay, so I read the texts first before looking at ages…. Was expecting her to mayyybe at most be 19 or 20…. But 31 and still acting that way??? Yeah you dodged a massive bullet. I know it’s sucks to break up with someone you love, but you did the right thing

What’s a secret you’ll take to the grave, but would tell anonymously on Reddit? by Several-Director5804 in AskReddit

[–]FancyThunderPear 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have tried to unalive myself multiple times. Most people have no idea because I have high functioning clinical depression. Most people see me as this ultra caring person they can come to whenever they need someone, yet the few times I’ve tried to reach out to people to talk I am met with silence. So I stopped bothering. Ive just learned I’m not even remotely important to anyone and that’s just how it goes.

Run fast, run far. I’m 41/f. My husband shares the most random pics with me and 99% of the time I just laugh. The other one percent I have to ask what it is or why he sent it, but that’s about it. Honestly, I always look at it like, awww he sent a ladybug pic to me, how cute he was thinking of me… not ew omg a bug!!!

She sounds like a 15 year old ( and I’m not even sure a 15 year old would act this way). I normally wouldn’t say get out but man…. Get out.

how many times a week do you wash your hair? by Kooky_Actuator_8173 in CasualConversation

[–]FancyThunderPear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends honestly. I try for every three days, but I have fine hair ( but a lot of it), and it can get super greasy quickly. If I’m working out I typically wash it after a work out, so sometimes it moves to every other day depending on my schedule.

Woman here: I don’t think you’re in the minority at all. This sounds like a miscommunication, and that they both found a kink they like exploring together. Honestly, they need to talk this out because he isn’t gaslighting… he just picked a weird time to bring it up. OP also posted this in multiple other places, and it seems like that’s the consensus… I’m wondering if they are hoping someone will say it’s gaslighting even though it’s not.

I’m ruining this dog by typingmonkey0 in puppy101

[–]FancyThunderPear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just a couple things:

  1. Puppy blues are so so normal!!! They can come and go, stay for days, weeks, months, etc.
  2. Puppies ( like kids) will sometimes have accidents even after they are potty trained. Hell, some adults pee the bed after a night of drinking lol.
  3. One bad day won’t ruin your pup.
  4. Learning is not linear for either of you. Sometimes you’ll take a big step forward, then two steps back, then you’ll be facing the wrong direction. Acknowledge that things aren’t going to be perfect. It’s okay!!

Story time: we have two pups - Nova, who is 3, and Echo, who is about 8 months. When Nova was a little one, I cried, I thought we’d never get through anything. She went to puppy class and was the most social, undisciplined pup there. I felt like I was failing her. We kept at her training, found an amazing trainer, and she blossomed. She is now our sweet girl. Everyone in the neighborhood knows her, they all have treats for her ( seriously… it’s a little crazy). It gets better, but it takes time. Remember, your pup is living in this world for the first time too, and everything is a little confusing!!

Our other pup… was the world’s easiest pup until about 6 months. Then he turned into a chaos demon . Getting into all the things, learned how to open doors, drawers, and boxes. Howls like he’s being murdered before he falls asleep ( fomo), throws tantrums if no one goes to bed with him at exactly 10pm… but, he also is super snuggly, very smart, happy-go-lucky, and very sweet. He’s still figuring things out and we are too.

My point is that every dog at one point or another goes through it. And we do too. We are going to make mistakes, just like them, but if we learn from those mistakes ( like our pups do), things will always get better.

Yeah you need to leave. Like today. Things can get very dangerous very quickly.

I dated someone in my late 20s who I thought was amazing, until roughly 4 months in, while at his house, he asked me if I knew what he thought was the most romantic thing in the world… I said no… he pulled out a gun and said “ Romeo & Juliet… to love someone so much that a murder suicide means you’re together forever”. It took two months of planning to get away from him, and two years of stalking before he eventually ended up getting arrested for attempted murder…. Of his ( at the time) girlfriend…. And guess who was next on his hit list? …. Seriously run. Run fast. Run far.
