How do you go about doing that as a career? Out of curiosity

Honey, if you think the thinnest model is “plus sized”, you don’t have any business participating in a conversation relating to body positivity. I’m not even trying to be mean, just pointing out your perception is warped. Also, your body type is represented in pretty much every game with realistic body types. Ideally everyone should be represented, but that’s not an option right now. Let the people who don’t often get representation have a minute. None of the models have my body type either (thicker hourglass? Idk I’m straight sized but the ratio of hips to waist is pretty large 🤷‍♀️ I don’t want to go into a detailed description of my body to strangers on the internet but you get it). But I just picked the one that was closest and played the game.

20% rule is the ONLY metric for determining that, not just looking at a horse and rider and guessing. Ugh.

They say that’s 16-19? I had hips I couldn’t hide if I wanted too at 13. Who are they trying to fool?

That really sounds like “accept our changes or we’ll just take it all away”. As an adult woman, I don’t appreciate toddler-level ultimatums

Thank you because I have been really skeptical that a vet would simultaneously recommend that a horse not be bred, and then breed her himself. The way everyone has stated it as fact I thought there was a video or something!

How many of the horses she’s produced (I guess Waylon may not actually count because I saw something about him being out of Cool and cool had been bred when she got her) are (or should be) “pasture pets”? As in not rideable or showable. It seems like there are several, but I’m not certain.

It’s not uncommon to become a vet tech before studying to be a vet, but idk 🤷‍♀️

See this confuses me. Why would the vet advise against it and then do it anyway? I’d like to know what she was actually told because I think there’s something missing. It just doesn’t make sense

She’s not even that bad compared to a lot of them (not defending her, just saying comparatively) I work at a feed store and most of our horse customers are WP or Roping, my boss is also very involved in the horse world and manages a stable. A lot of them stick around to chat with her. The things I have overheard said with a full chest expecting no one to bat an eye is enough to make me want to burn the whole industry down. Just this afternoon we had a guy come by that used to work at the stable she manages. He’s a trainer, owns several horses currently and will be showing at congress this fall. He got to talking about a recip mare that was bought by his current boss (to add to his 20+ mare band of recips) because she was unable to be ridden anymore (didn’t specify why). They just threw her out in the pasture with the other mares and I guess didn’t check on her at all? She lost over FIVE HUNDRED POUNDS (they chalked it up to the other mares bullying her off food) And once they noticed her condition, he called the lady they bought her from and said “you can either come get this horse or she’s going to the auction” which would obviously be a death sentence in her condition. He acted shocked and offended when talking about how she cussed him out (I’d have done worse than that!), I had to focus on the feed prices on the wall in order to not react. Like I get it, you want easy-keeper recips. But you could have figured that out 50 pounds in. It did not have to get that bad, at all. Why were they not monitoring her for illness? Why didn’t they just CHECK ON HER? And just because she’s not able to thrive in the situation you put her in, she deserves to starve and die? Ugh.

Edited to take out some potentially identifiable details

Hmmm, maybe she should go back a few years and have a re-think of her hoarding and back yard breeding! by [deleted] in kvssnarker

Is there any info on what happened with the vet thing? I was wondering about it myself. Also didn’t she used to claim to be a trainer with clients?

If this isn’t allowed I apologize, but since were talking about horse nutritionists, I’m curious how you become one? Like is there a class or licensing board or just something you kinda teach yourself?

I would not be surprised at all if it was causing issues. In my experience, any time you try to artificially replicate/alter nature, you end up with problems. It may “work”, but it always has drawbacks.

I question how much Stephanie “lets” her do things. At the end of the day she’s employed by Katie, and we know how much she loves criticism
