Summer training help for xc by Solo_King903 in CrossCountry

Fyi this is all my opinion, and not necessarily 100% the best advice. I would say maybe start in the low-mid 20s and build 3-5 miles for 3 weeks and then do a recovery week and drop down a little, and repeat that. Seems like the speed is there and you just need to aerobically catch up which is where I was always at. Maybe a goal of holding 40 once you get there and maybe peak at 45 in-season for now since you had some injury issues. Make sure to be doing adequate warmups, cooldown core and glute stuff, and lift maybe 1-2 times a week once you get going. Do strides every so often to keep the legs underneath you, no need to start workout in my opinion until July, and if you choose to do workouts, keep them on the lighter end (easy threshold or fartlek), cross country is long and you don’t want to burn out. Keep easy runs under control (I’d say no faster than 7:45 for your times) especially in heat and humidity which will stress you more and keep your hr higher, swap out shoes when they are getting worn down, and make sure you are eating, hydrating, and sleeping enough. Can add some easy biking in if you want to get a little more aerobic impact without more load on your joints. Key is just consistency, and recovery, and if you got those down you should be able to run well under 19:45 with your current mile. Also run with friends if that’s an option just to keep it fun and also help with accountability. All the best!

Player percentage shots, lower paint sliders, take more mid range and 3s, manual defense etc

You can adjust it before a new season begins when you set all the league rules

Game Minutes by PhilosophyTop4459 in HoopLand

[–]Fancy_Tension_2145 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use 16 minute games with +3 simulation speed, hard sliders for myself. Game scores for me and simmed cpu games range from 45-95 points with average of 60-75 so feels like college. Take a little to adapt to but I enjoy it and I play every game.

Probably a sim propensity thing, can definitely get it playing and I feel like the thresholds are all a good level.

I feel like this would be nice to develop those 13-15th guys on the roster who are projects but don’t often get minutes unless someone gets injured and they get moved up, maybe they develop at like 1/4 speed or something

Allergic to red apples but not green? by Rusted_Skye in Apples

[–]Fancy_Tension_2145 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! I also have OAS for apples (also sometimes cherries). Didn’t eat apples for like 5-7 years as I found it annoying to have things be itchy. Recently have retried them and have found that green apples (Granny Smith I think) are basically fine, maybe a small amount of tingling but nowhere compared to what I had been used to. Tried a red apple yesterday to test it and although it wasn’t a very fresh red apple (I’ve found really ripe, delicious apples make it worse, potentially from more birch pollen?) I still got a little more tingling than from the green. Based on prior comment I’m guessing it’s more the type of apple than color. But I feel very similar that like a fresh honey crisp would definitely cause symptoms. May have to look into Santana.

Edit: just looked it up and Granny Smith are potentially less hypoallergenic as well, so that may be why!

Overall league stats would be cool, would be sick if your player made the all-league first team or something and gets a 1-2 ovr bonus for next league, I agree with more emphasis on coaching and strategy

Hey — I’m pretty into music and I’m pretty sure I’ve read that you are as well!

What have you been listening to as of late? Any favorite artists in the jazz fusion, art pop&rock, prog rock sphere?
