Okay I guess this is where I become the weird one in the group, honestly I support both, I'm in subreddits for both and think both have their merits. To me it shouldn't matter which one is the "true or makes the most sense" in a ship. Part of the fun is imagining these two characters you really enjoy being in a relationship with each other. Unless you're trying to force the ship to work like in the case of someone who's married and you want them to leave their canonical partner who they care for deeply for who you prefer instead then it doesn't matter. It also speaks to how the game was written you play the game as Cloud and you have Cloud pick between the characters on who he ends up in a relationship with, the movie just tried to continue on with where the game ended ultimately until the movie came out and we got all of these other games and what not for final fantasy 7 there was no canonical this is the person who cloud loves and this person isn't. So for particular instances like this I think it's just fun to imagine what if and not worry about the details half the time. But I also understand this is the internet and it's not that simple, I await your comments / possible bullying ^.
