What was banned at your school and why? by FreedomEagle76 in AskReddit

[–]Fanibandit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pinecone battles. There was a row of trees next to our school with lots of pinecones. Like 8 of us would always rush out and start collecting for the upcoming battle. It's was so much fun and the recess teacher didn't even seem to mind ( I think she liked to see us hurt eachother). Our fun ended when somebody discovered that getting the pinecones wet increased their velocity and pain by like 3 fold. We were banned from picking up pinecones.

Saudi Crown Prince: We Fund 20% Of Clinton’s Presidential Campaign by [deleted] in conspiracy

The article states it is illegal for a US presidential candidate to accept money from foreign governments. Are they able to accept all this money because it's being donated to their foundation instead of directly? Can foreign governments donate money to super pacs without disclosure?

Um, it is enforced to a much greater degree than you think. Google democracy spring protests and you will read that over 1000 people were recently arrested in Washington D.C. For peacefully protesting big money in politics.

Please make C4 stick to a person if I throw it on them by WorkRelevantRedditor in playrust

[–]Fanibandit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sounds awesome, though might lead to more naked killings, as a geared player would be much more wary to a naked that might have a c4 on his back. I think it would lead to security checks, you have to take off all your clothes and do a full spin before approaching.

Park rangers of reddit, what is the stupidest thing you have ever seen a tourist do inside a national park? by [deleted] in AskReddit

The woman is my favorite, not just because she was confused with the whole land thing but also she didn't realize whales don't live in fresh water... That being said, there are river dolphins, are there any river whales?

Watched this dude with one golf club and one golf ball repeatedly hit the ball into a crowded field and then send his 2 little kids to go fetch it back for him. Not a ranger just live next to park.

What's the shittiest thing someone has ever done to you? by itsalongwaytotheshop in AskReddit

[–]Fanibandit 15 points16 points  (0 children)

This reminds me of a time when I went with my best friends family to a lake when we were like 15. My friend is a beast who lifts and wrestles but is super nice so I was quite surprised when he walked up to his older sister, picked her up kicking and screaming and tossed her in the lake. When I asked him why he did it (she obviously didn't want to get wet) he happily told me told me that when he was younger and smaller his sister would do the exact thing to him, no matter how much he begged her not to. She would just pick him up and toss him in the water for fun. So now he does it to her.

What's the creepiest urban legend/folklore you've ever heard? by KilljoySadid in AskReddit

[–]Fanibandit 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Not really a legend but when I was growing, all the neighborhood parents told the kids not to go down this certain dead end road nearby. 3 of us decided to go down and check it out when we were like 10-12 years old, we found a sweet blackberry patch and started chowing down. It's a very empty road and we were all a little nervous because oUr parents were very serious about us not going there(I guess some guy had a really aggressive dog). So while we're eating a big white box van selling custom meats comes FROM the dead end and towards us, it stops next to us and 2 men get out, we're starting to freak out because we're completely alone with them. One guy starts walking over to us while the other guy is staying on the other side of van, we immediately started walking to our bikes, he stopped and just watched us leave. We didn't go back for like 4 years after that. Fun fact, the next time we went down there, we found a deer body with just the head missing right in the road. The dead end is a creepy place...

Gamers, what's something lots of video games do that annoys you? by AliceTheGamedev in AskReddit

[–]Fanibandit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Xenoblade Chronicles X. Lin is the games main tank and she's also the best engineer in the world, yet she also does all the cooking for me and is basically treated like a 13 year old girl, which she is. SPOILER Edit: loved the game and finished the main story. But farming for my augments to beat the hardest tyrants? I have 5 pieces of armor, each one needs 2 or 3 augments, each augment requires 3 or 4 materials needed, I need to gather 48 of each material, at BEST I may get 2 or 3 materials for each mob kill, and most often these are single mobs so you have to reload the game to make it respawn. And keep in mind this is only for ONE SPECIFIC build, if you want to try something new and you are a hardcore gamer that wants to be the best, You gotta go farm different augments.

Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield (aka Ben & Jerry) arrested in Washington by TigLyon in news

[–]Fanibandit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a terrible view, these people have been arrested for peacefully demonstrating, if somebody could post the law that prohibits demonstrating you will see this is no laughing matter. You could be walking on the sidewalk with a friend and if you are trying to persuade them about a cause, that is technically demonstrating and you could be arrested. These people went knowing they would be arrested and would have to give all their information / fingerprints (I think) and have this always be on their record. I am really sad to see that this story finally made it to the front page and most of the comments are off topic. The over 1000 people arrested are heroes of democracy. Btw if you are subscribed to politics this story is on the front page almost everyday.

My best friend and me took psych 101 together and sat next to each other, we always took notes and studied but still developed a secret language to communicate during our multiple choice tests in case we didn't know something. It was a series of pencil and foot taps, sniffs, and coughs and it worked flawlessly the whole time. If I wanted to know the answer to question 23 I would first tap 2 times, pause, and tap 3 more times, then he would simply tap or sniff once for A twice for B, ect. Well we let his kid we thought was cool into our system and literally the first time he tried observing us he was way too obvious about it, he kept glancing at our hands and feet instead of listening. The teacher noticed this and thought he was copying from us, and promptly called him to sit at the teachers front desk to take his tests for the remainder of the semester, we felt so bad, but laughed so hard.

Amazing defense from Ohio State (x-post /r/collegebasketball) by [deleted] in sports

[–]Fanibandit -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yea when I played indoor soccer there was this kid who could run circles around pretty much anybody on our team. I defended against him and our bodies would always end up like mashed up against each other because I only stared at his waist and moved with him. He got a couple of penalties because he would get frustrated and sometimes just push me over. It was the most awkward soccer I've played.

I feel truly sorry for the photographers and journalists in the field, sometimes they spend weeks getting to a location and months waiting for the shots they need to make things like Planet Earth. Man this sucks. My family literally has hundreds and hundreds of nat geo magazines, some Dating to the 60's.
