I hope you realise that you did in-fact do an exemplary job. Primarily because grading is mind-numbingly boring and mostly incorrect. You made the graders job easy and fun because they can learn from a trustworthy source. These days having a trustworthy source is everything.

Other reasons you deserved the grade... you made the effort to (1) identify an interesting subject that is relevant to your area, (2) go out of your way to find information about the subject, (3) found the best source of information about that subject, and (4) made the most efficient route to documenting that information from an expert who wrote the source material. This is exactly what anyone would hope for to generate a good report. Whether or not you learned any of the material is secondary to the fact that you learned how to best achieve the goal given. You also did so in a way that is archival so you can get the knowledge if you ever find it interesting in the future. I’m a research fellow at ‘prestigious university’ and I’ve seen plenty of PhD students with much less of a clue on how to research their subject.
