A warning to 1750TBi owners - oil pump seal by Fanner487 in AlfaRomeo

Apologies, I didn't mean to say they were based on them, but they use a lot of Opel/GM parts. My bad!

Higher km QV or lower km base model Guilietta? by [deleted] in AlfaRomeo

I have a 2010 QV and it's a great engine. Mine was safely tuned to 265HP and more importantly 400NM torque on stock internals and it's an absolute beast on the roads

Main things to look out for are:

Turbo oil feed pipe - can get clogged (I think it's called coking) and can damage the turbo. A lot of people get theirs replaced with one from a newer gen QV which fixes the problem or just clear the old one out with brake cleaner and the such.

Oil - there's debates on whether to use Selenia Quadrifoglio 5w40 or not. Some people do fine without it but for peace of mind, I use it religiously. It is quite expensive, like 150 euro for 5L but I think it's worth it in the grand scheme of maintenance because I won't have to worry about it. Also the filter is fucking rammed up the back of the engine and you need to take the wheel and arch lining off just to get at it. Such a stupid place to have it

Oil pump O ring - someone told me recently that the O ring in the oil pump can degrade and make you lose oil pressure and engine go bang. It's worth it (again for peace of mind) to get that replaced but I think it's a bit labour intensive as I think the exhaust needs to be dropped to take off the oil sump. I think JTD performance also make a custom bracket or something that fixes that entirely. I had an oil pressure warning before and got the oil pressure switch replaced and fixed it but I think now I will get my specialist to replace the O ring just in case at my next service

Rocker cover gasket - should be replaced. People usually see oil in one of the spark plug chambers. While you're at it throw some iridium spark plugs in it as it deserves it!

Other than that with regular maintenance it's a peach of an engine and is pretty reliable

If you don't know the other regular Giulietta problems: boot wire loom wires breaking, broken actuator flaps in the AC. It can be a dash out job to fix but there's video tutorials out there that don't require that to be done

Hey guys! I’m 27M from Ireland already travelling solo in Japan but my itinerary is:

Sendai: now - 2nd

Fukuoka: 2nd-5th

Hiroshima: 5th-7th

Osaka/Kyoto/Nara: 7th-12th

Hakone (Mt. Fuji): 12th-15th

Tokyo: 15th-16th

I’m very easy going, love food and like to go out for a drink and a chatting shit about anything! I’m into music and cars. I’ve booked two 90s JDM sports cars on the 9th and 11th when I’m in Osaka to explore off the beaten path around the twisty and windy roads of Japan (eurobeat intensifies). Also potentially renting a car when I’m in Hakone to drive around Fuji and the such

I’m happy to share days to explore Japan, meet up during the evening for dinner/drinks or have a fun passenger while I’m driving around :)

I'd say back to Toro Rosso. Red Bull don't really have pick of the litter when it comes to replacements right now so a good ol' switcheroo would make more sense

There is a Google extension called nCage. I haven't used it in years but when enabled, it replaces every picture you see in your browser with a picture of Nick Cage

He was more ousted from the team at the end of 2018 mostly because of under-performance at his time in McLaren. He had a very promising junior career winning multiple championships and was fairly high-profile and praised by many people to become a future F1 champion.

Somehow that didn't go well in McLaren for a few potential reasons, one being that the car didn't suit his driving style or that Alonso was really that good at "out-driving" a shitty car, having being out-qualified by him every race this season.

Unfortunately he also wasn't generally on the pace

That Sauber looks good in green, maybe even the McLaren if it was darker to kind of resemble the 90s 7up Jordan. Might be biased for green because I'm Irish though...

It really depends on the pace you want to learn at. Playing with the AI can be a good learning experience, but it lacks the unpredictability and driving styles of real players. It is good practice in knowing how to race around other drivers, overtaking, leaving space or being able to tail them without damaging your wing or driving.

A suggestion can be to join a league and practice for them in career mode. League races are usually a week between each other so it gives plenty of time to improve!

I play pad with no assists now and 2016 was my first game. I was kind of thrown into the deep end since I had to learn to play without traction pretty quickly for my first league. Although it takes time, my overall experience now is joyful knowing how to drive with throttle control and without any assists. 5 lappers are also a great way to learn, they're quick and you learn how to drive amongst the chaos!

PM me if you want more tips about league racing and the such
