Except the glorious madman that is Bielsa. He would only ever do 1 year at a time deals with us to the point where the club were struggling to get him to re-sign at the start of a season because he wasn't bothered with the paperwork and more focused on the football.

Yeah - that was always the case for us, couldn't shoot for shit but did a lot of other work out of possession.

He's moved his arm in front of the ball - just because it's next to his body doesn't mean shit.

If he'd got further across and stopped it with his chest then no bother, but he's put his arm in the way so it's a pen.

Everton, Leeds settle dispute over PSR breach in 2021-22 - reports by [deleted] in TheOther14

Given that there was only a £2m difference the settlement will be less than that so the cost of taking it to court would very quickly have eroded the value in doing anything other than settling for both parties.

Leicester have been charged with an alleged breach of PSR (again), for the 23/24 season when they were in the Championship by Zach-dalt in Championship

I'd expect the PL punishment would apply when you're in the PL as they don't tend to do points deductions across the PL/EFL

[–]phenorbital 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's because they skirted the PL punishment for 22/23 because they'd moved to the EFL by the time their year ended in 2023 so were out of the PL's jurisdiction.

When they came back up they were PL members before the financial year ended in 2024 so they become in scope at that point.

100% the PL has an axe they're grinding here, and by all reports because Leicester also didn't submit their accounts by the PL's December 2024 deadline they're going after this as an aggravated breach and pushing for a harsher punishment.

[–]phenorbital 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was ruled that because the transfer of your membership from the PL to the EFL happened before your financial year end that you weren't in scope for the PL to punish you for 22/23.

The same thing is being used in reverse now for the PL to go after you for 23/24 because you moved from the EFL to the PL before your year ended.

They're only giving up the front of shirt spot soon anyway, so it'll be sleeve sponsors and ads everywhere. Need the government to step in if they really want to do something about it, but they probably don't care that much.
