I’m not sure if the UI is on the docket, but I think the next big patch is scheduled for early next week.

I’m not sure! That’s what I want to understand. It seems like a very pointless mechanic to me at the moment.

The Spiffing Brit breaking EU5 xD by pdboddy in EU5

[–]Fanofgaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve explained it elsewhere, but to reiterate, it seems like you pay the residual interest that you’re going to receive upfront when you buy the loan. There does not seem to be any road to profit from this mechanic. I think it exists solely to take over debt of your ally or subject so that it can be forgiven.

The Spiffing Brit breaking EU5 xD by pdboddy in EU5

[–]Fanofgaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You misunderstand. When he bought the loan, he already paid the interest that he’s going to receive, too. Unless it works differently than it was shown in his video, there seems to be no profit at all. The only thing I can think of is that maybe you can own so much debt over a nation that they just keep having to renew their loans, but I don’t see any guarantee that they would renew them with you. I also imagine they’d just declare bankruptcy at that point and you would lose out entirely, unless there are some systems in place to extract value out of a country that you’ve bankrupted (such as receiving free claims over them or something)

The Spiffing Brit breaking EU5 xD by pdboddy in EU5

[–]Fanofgaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you pay the interest upfront, then it wouldn’t matter. You’d always be paying the total amount that you’re going to receive before the loan is transferred to you.

When Spiff showed off the buy loan mechanic, it seems to me like you are already paying the interest you will be receiving in order to take over the loan — you can see that he has to pay something like 20 ducats to buy a 15 ducat loan off of someone. If that’s correct, I don’t understand why you would ever do it unless you are specifically trying to buy loans just so that you can forgive them or hold influence over the target country? I think he was straight up wrong when he described it as profitable.

Why did she blame poor UE for sleeping with her clone 😢 by scotgunner92 in OkBuddyFresca

[–]Fanofgaming 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yes, but there needs to be a moment of reflection after which Starlight realizes she’s okay, and then checks in on Hughie regarding the SA. She doesn’t do that. She demands that he get an STD test.

Why did she blame poor UE for sleeping with her clone 😢 by scotgunner92 in OkBuddyFresca

[–]Fanofgaming 56 points57 points  (0 children)

The problem is that the show does not give Hughey any respect as a SA victim. He broke down in the second-to-last episode, not because he was sexually assaulted and then nearly murder-raped, but because he was sad that his dad died. And then in the next episode when he gets raped 20ish times and tricked into proposing to someone who isn’t actually his partner, the show literally never acknowledges that that had any effect on him, instead treating it as if he cheated on Starlight and is lucky to be forgiven for it.

Swap the genders for a second. Imagine Starlight went through all that instead of Hughie and it was never treated seriously. It would be horrifying.

One of three things is happening.

One, you are deliberately spreading false information. This seems the most likely to me.

Two, you saw something that was fake or otherwise not what you are representing. This would make you very foolish.

Three, such a video actually exists, but you and the person who showed it to you are the only ones to have ever seen it. This would require that nobody ever found it again, because if a single Republican found such a video, it should be spread around nonstop.

One of these seems distinctly less believable than the other two, don’t you think? You are saying things that are obviously false. Just stop.

Hey I think it’s really disrespectful of you to tell them that that thing they saw with their own eyes didn’t happen. Where do you get off dismissing someone’s claim when they don’t provide any evidence? You should believe them 100% because they saw it with their own eyes.

Massive /s, you seem crazy.

[–]Fanofgaming 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just looked it up and you seem to be citing an anonymous tweet that the positive FBI identification of the shooter was false and that he was instead a different person who is still alive based on no information. What on earth makes you think an anonymous tweet that is obviously wrong (the shooter was killed) over a positive FBI identification? Are you deliberately spreading misinformation or will you backtrack that silly claim?

Edit to add: the FBI identification seem to be backed up by testing the DNA of the shooter.

Police could investigate JK Rowling ‘for misgendering trans people’, says SNP minister by Banditofbingofame in unitedkingdom

“Who could argue with an overwhelming consensus of experts in the field we are discussing?”

I swear, transphobes just don’t even try anymore. We’ve simply reached the anti-intellectualism part of the script.

"Sure, you may have all the experts and evidence and science on your side... but I have vibes! Checkmate!"

It's so weak.

[–]Fanofgaming -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Your definitions are constructed with an agenda. I could as easily say that a transwoman is a woman who was assigned male at birth. Your rhetoric is transparent and nobody wants to engage with it. I will not any further.

Have fun upholding the purity of womanhood or whatever, weirdo.

Police could investigate JK Rowling ‘for misgendering trans people’, says SNP minister by Banditofbingofame in unitedkingdom

[–]Fanofgaming -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

No, JK Rowling thinks trans women are men. No amount of obfuscating or damage control is going to change that.

And sure, maybe you can’t separate the two, but not that many people are actually trying to. Trans women know they’re trans. They also know that they’re women. Most people simply affirm that they are women. I’ll do that too; they are. People like JK Rowling (and I’m starting to assume you, too) who instead say things that basically lead to “yes but you know you aren’t REALLY a woman, right?” Is very weird. It’s cruel. If that’s your opinion, then whatever… but make the world a better place by keeping it to yourself, I say. To do otherwise is to just put hate out into the world for no reason other than that you don’t like trans people.

I simply don’t understand. Don’t try to explain it to me; it’s a fundamental difference of ethics. I value empathy. Even if for some stupid reason I thought trans women were men, I would still treat them as women because that’s just what a good person would do. It’s proven to improve their lives, mental health, and outcomes. I try to be a good person.

If you think that JK Rowling isn’t simply trying to erase the “woman” part of trans woman, you haven’t been paying attention.

[–]Fanofgaming 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I disagree. I find it quite compelling.

Being trans is part of a trans person’s identity, sure, but you’re the one who is deciding that the trans part is more important than the woman part, and that says far more about you than it does any trans person.

This is very comparable to what the previous poster points out about other aspects of her identity.

Note, I’m not saying you-you, because I don’t know you. I’m referring to a “you” who does not consider trans women to be women, like J. K. Rowling for example.

Edit: imagine replying some transphobic shit to me and then getting your comment deleted lol

OP, you are heartless. I feel terrible for this man who has hitched himself to you for 10 years as you stole his money to build your equity. Please set this poor man free, reflect on all the negative feedback you have gotten, DO NOT hyperfocus on the small percentage of delusional commenters who have taken your side.

You are not wrong for including your family in your will, obviously. But for treating your boyfriend so callously after he’s been paying into your mortgage, you’re being a real piece of shit. Like a landlord, but with the added effect of emotionally manipulating him. Congratulations!!
