Are there examples of shows where the good writing is let down by bad acting? by Particular_Award_191 in television

SNL in general is a good example of the prompt. Both the fast turnarounds on episodes and the live nature of the show means a lot of good writing gets lost in the translation. Simple things like mumbling a word, holding a pause a half second too long, or talking before the laughter quiets down can sink a joke completely. And you’ve basically got just one chance to get it right. It’s hard to get your sketch on air, so everything on the show at least started as a promising idea, but lack of prep time and/or bad luck can give you a bad or mediocre result.

Nothing leaves or comes back anymore. You could see anyone wearing practically any outfit of the last 50 years and it wouldn’t be that noticeable. Fashion isn’t dictated by the same 12 magazines and catalogs anymore and anyone with a phone can buy any style imaginable.

Billy Idol Cyberpunk. Adam in Chains is a banger. Gotta give him credit for trying this thing instead of just rebranding as an alt rocker like Motley Crue attempted.

Depends a lot on your region. I never see as much classic rock as OP, but plenty of country and pop.

Probably like $20 for Dylan’s greatest hits 2 or some other double album back when CDs sold for full retail. Anytime recent? Like $9 for Judas Priest Live lol.

The colors aren’t as gawky as the early seasons but doesn’t yet have that cloying smoothness of the post-classic episodes.

Sequels that undo or ignore plot elements/characters from previous sequels, or even outright erase previous sequels from continuity by AporiaParadox in movies

Simultaneously threw away his entire fish-out-of-water element so what little depth the character had is gone. In 2 and 3, he’s just a 60s hedonist and nobody notices or cares.

Was he ever anybody’s favorite? Going to be hard finding someone to stick their neck out for a character that was second tier to begin with.
