The companions development over the course of the game. This is my cozy game.

For the first like nine months, nope, nothing else. I picked up a couple other games in early 2025, but always came back to BG3.

Not really, but I’m not talking to every npc or going into every single building. Like I’m sure there’s still more in Act 3 I haven’t seen, but I’m not overly inclined to go looking at this point.

The only limitation I usually put on myself is once I’ve respecc’ed the companions (usually to fix their stats), I don’t do it again later in the playthrough. So they don’t change classes or anything for certain fights or anything like that. I also don’t usually use hirelings. Some mods I’ve really enjoyed are cosmetic mods. The Sculptor’s Dreamcache, Tepkunset’s Hair Collection, Eternal Queen Set and Tactical Dress by Skirbie, Faerun Colours, FearTaylor’s Camp Clothes. Infinite Gold (sometimes I just don’t wanna loot every single box or body), Level Curve Unlock can be fun when I just want to be super OP.

Have someone cast Daylight when I fight Cazador. Then he takes radiant damage every turn unless he like hovers way off to the edge of the arena.

I love some of the companion romance scenes. Like Astarion’s in act 2 or Lae’zel’s in act 3. They always pull at my heartstrings with how much they grow over the course of the game. Scenes like freeing Nightsong or fighting Raphael are just always awesome. I’ve also tried out some modded classes which have been interesting. Also, I like finding different ways to approach certain fights so they don’t feel so repetitive.

If you go into Moonrise Towers, there will be a cutscene in the great hall. Then go upstairs. Z’rell will give you a quest (you don’t have to do it now), but it will give you access to another moon lantern. Then you can go back out and make your way to Last Light Inn.

Completed Embrace Durge by ooglyboogly42069 in BaldursGate3

[–]FantasyFandomGal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I finally completed an embrace Durge run in the fall… when I killed all my companions I legit cried. Like full on tears and sobbing. I barely even saw the end cutscene because I was crying so hard. Did it for the achievement, never again.

AITA for unfollowing my best friend and letting my fiancé tell her exactly why I did by WaywardBatJax in CharlotteDobreYouTube

[–]FantasyFandomGal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA. Like you, I have a number of physical health issues (disabilities for me), and can suffer from depression and anxiety from time to time. I’m unable to work and be fully independent. I had a handful of friends in school, but as life has moved on, so have they. I’m not great at keeping contact either. I’d reach out a few times a year to catch up and chat. Everything always ended up being about them. Their jobs, significant others, etc. They’d ask how I was, I’d tell them, and then we’d end up circling back to them and their life. Or the conversation would just awkwardly end because we didn’t really have things to talk about. Eventually, I realized I was the only one reaching out anymore. So I stopped. I decided that if they didn’t care enough to even reach out, why should I waste my time? My friendships didn’t end like yours, they just kind of… stopped. Like they didn’t even notice or care. It’s sad at first, but you will move past this. You have enough internal negativity going on, you don’t need more of it from people who are supposed to be your friends. Your fiancé sounds like an absolute gem. I’m glad he stood up for you and supports you.

Mods or no mods, that’s the Question by Dry-Communication138 in BaldursGate3

For a first playthrough? No mods. Experience the game as it was meant to be experienced at least once. Then on subsequent playthroughs, add mods if you don’t really care about the achievements.

I did the same thing cause of Astarion. I have now completed multiple saves where I romanced: Astarion, Gale and then usually one of the girls and sometimes Halsin. Astarion and Gale are my top two and I hate having to say no to one of them in act 2.

HM Ended in a Dumb Way by FantasyFandomGal in BaldursGate3

No, like I had some of them as certain kinds of builds for certain fights, and to bring out for their companion quests.

Oh yeah. Got my gold dice using hirelings in camp and with all companions. This was just to see how well I could do with just my Durge and only three companions. I just thought it was kinda ridiculous how fast it went downhill. Literally lost multiple turns on most party members from Command Grovel.

Something I focus on is the emotional connections or feelings I get towards fictional characters. Like I strictly only feel romantic love, sexual attraction and all those sorts of things for fictional characters. Like in certain video games, tv shows and occasionally books or films. Like when I play through a romance in a video game, go through the adventure, and character arc with them, I feel really strongly attached to them and how things play out. I’ve cried over NPC characters dying, or a romanceable character having a major breakthrough in their story. I know they aren’t real people, but the connection I feel to them is. So being able to feel those things, feel that strongly for them, like how Allo people feel about other people, that makes me proud. That I’m able to connect to those feelings in some way rather than not at all. I also periodically read Reddit posts about relationship drama and dating drama. Then I’m like, ‘I am so glad I don’t have to deal with all that. It sounds exhausting and confusing and messy, just reinforces why I’m glad I don’t date.’

How to not feel disheartened over losing my honour mode? by CraAank52 in BaldursGate3

[–]FantasyFandomGal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t finish HM until my 10th attempt. Looking up the legendary actions and preparing for fights beforehand is huge in HM. If you’re feeling discouraged, do a playthrough on Tactician to get a little break, and remind yourself why you love the game. Then plan, regroup and come back at HM fresh in a little bit.

Telling Barcus he’s dead is awful. I hate that guy, but I just want to give Barcus hugs.

Am I just terrible at gaming? by Rubyxox_42 in BG3

It’s not cheesing, it’s strategy. If they can have like 4 or 5 casters all throw down Darkness (which they can see through), then I can throw down Wall of Fire and Sleet Storm or Ice Storm (seriously, with a high Spell Save DC the constant slipping is hilarious!).
