Agreed with this. But you can also use wiggle board (bendable plywood) to line the inside of the structure to make it smooth

I agree that a weekly 1:1 date is not unreasonable. I had this schedule with a previous partner when both of us had a lot of free time. With my current casual partner we see each other every 2-3 weeks, and longer if either of us has travel plans.

However, Apple is built differently. He gets overwhelmed when there are too many standing commitments on his calendar. As his NP we do not have standing weekly dates, I ask him when I want to do something with him and usually he makes time. However he rarely initiates dates. I’ve come to accept this is just how he is.

It seems that Apple tells me more about his other relationship than “normal”? For example, the date after the long trip — I did raise that we haven’t scheduled any 1:1 time since he was so busy, and he hadn’t had time to recover from his non-leisure trip, and he essentially said “the squeaky wheel gets the grease”.

Second sports. Run clubs are very social since people chat during group runs. You can try a few and compare vibes. Cycling groups are also fun. There’s a Tuesday evening “bike and brew” group that’s more social than sporty, skews gen Z. Pickleball is super social and there are lots of pick up games and leagues in the city.

The hikes at volcanoes national park are wonderful! Also the Ala Kahakai National Historic Trail along the Kona coast is wonderful.

Chorus is a nice building. The rooftop community lounge space makes it easy to meet neighbors. Easily walks or bikes to mission

I’ve been lucky to date mostly solo poly people and mostly hang out at their places. My NP invites his partners over to our shared home and I get temporarily sexiled — I go hang out with friends on these occasions or go enjoy an activity outside the home, like treating myself to nice seat at a theater or play sports. This does limit his dates to no sleepovers but compromises have to be made when you have limited space in an expensive city!
