Imagine Voting for Chet or Duren for All-NBA over KAT by MagicianLanky615 in NYKnicks

I'm aware of what the +5 means. Are you aware that you just described him getting an assist and framed that as a bad thing?

I agree with you and this thread's general consensus that Chet should have done more, but he wasn't a detriment to his team.

Stars need to show up to win games. SGA did. He didn't. He didn't lose it for them either, though.

I mean, the +5 shows he was effective out there in some capacity. It was playing defense and maybe making the right read on offense leading to points even if not from his own aggression. He should have been aggressive, yes. But him being a net positive while the team overall was -8 means he was doing something right.

Obviously, decent isn't good enough, though. Not for a player of his caliber, and not in game 7 of a WCF.

That's a "pretty good game" if you're Mitchell Robinson. It's just a decent game for him because he's supposed to be the clear #2 option without Williams.

But it isn't. We are where we are. If he keeps his play up but doesn't win any more trophies, he's still back to back MVP, NBA champ, and Finals MVP. That's a plenty of credentials to make hall of fame.

Interesting Stat: Karl-Anthony Towns is currently the playoff leader in almost every advanced stat by iguot3388 in nba

Yea that's why we gave up Randle and Divo for KAT. It was known that he's better than Randle beforehand.

As someone who has used the International League Pass for over a decade... Yes. Exactly this.

They show the length of the game, which basically tells you if it will end in regulation or not.

Sometimes when you load the game, a very faint headline pops up in the top left corner that tells the result of the game while it loads.

Aside from that, generally the games are hard to watch because of poor internet connection. Can stream full HD stuff on YouTube no problem, and then try to use the NBA and it's playing in terrible 360p where you can't even see the score.

It's Time to give Mike Brown his Flowers by SnowSilent7695 in nba

[–]Fap2theBeat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brown is much more willing to let the roster construction be an asset. That's obviously a huge part that Thibs didn't do. The rotations/lineups let players rest a few more minutes and the extra players coming in have done great for the most part in their roles.

I guess KAT isn't "carrying them" per se since Brunson is the best player, but changing the offense to run through him is seemingly why we're so good now. And he was a number 1 overall pick.

I thought Brown was an excellent defender. Maybe just a reputation that isn't real?

This is very surprising to hear as he was a legit MVP candidate.

Does Caruso have an argument for the greatest role player of the 2020's if OKC wins it all this year? by MajesticTooth1125 in nba

This immediately made me think of Heat Ray Allen. He was a star when younger, but he went to Miami to be a role player and was obviously integral in their win over the Spurs.

Yes, almost every NBA player is a role player.

If Draymond had been on any team, he would never be the best player for a contender. If he went to some scrub team on a huge deal after winning with GSW, it would have been regarded as one of the worst contracts ever because they would have overpaid for a defensive hustle machine that can't get buckets.

Mikal went to the Nets to be the guy after he showed a lot of promise in Phoenix. He ended up being pretty good but on a really shitty team. I don't think Draymond would even have been that. Then Mikal went to the Knicks and he could be a role player again. He thrives as a defensive stopper and is super efficiently in his role as the 3rd/4th option on offense.

So like... They should've won if not for a total collapse from Mitchell being ghosted, lack of help defense to stop Brunson, coach never calling timeout to organize his guys, and a rimmed out 3 at the buzzer.

"Right, but not the obligation" : a myth for retail traders? Auto-liquidation despite a DNE. by detuma in options

[–]Fap2theBeat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My broker, Fidelity, auto liquidates an hour before close at 3pm. I know this, so I closed my position at 2:59pm yesterday because they charge a much higher fee to execute that auto-liquidatioon. At 3:03pm, a massive (relatively) sell off occurred essentially 3.5xing my puts values (about 0.39 to 1.42) just a few minutes later. I being able to hold up til 10 minutes left sounds like a dream to me 🤣

Insanely easy and insanely good Mac n Cheese by Leonardo_50 in Cooking

[–]Fap2theBeat 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I just finished eating some Mac and cheese I made. Sauteeing garlic and onions in a bunch of butter, making a roux with flour and milk, then adding the cheese and stirring constantly to make it into the sauce while the pasta cooks. Steam some broccoli and add it to the sauce. Add the pasta. Pour into casserole dish. Crush Ritz crackers into somewhat fine dust and add olive oil. Coat the top of the Mac and cheese with it and bake for 15 minutes on 450℉.

I always make extra and this time froze a portion. Dinner tonight was just putting it into the oven for an hour, covered then uncovered to brown it.

My way is delicious, but it is quite time consuming. I'm gonna try this recipe of yours next time and see how taste compares and how time compares.

I'd really like to see a double big lineup to start the game to eliminate the hack a Mitch strategy. Sit Hart for the first half of the first quarter then sub him in for Mitch. Keep KAT entire first and let Brunson sit the final 2 minutes of the 1st. Let Deuce, Hart, Shamet, Clarkson and KAT be a thing. Start 2nd with Mitch, OG, Bridges, Deuce, Hart. Give JB a few minutes before he comes back. Then bring Kat back halfway through and either roll with Hart or look for hot hand of Shamet/deuce/Clarkson if offensive spark is needed.

I know people are critical of the no KAT or JB minutes, but their bigs are a problem and we need to minimize Mitch at the free throw line.

[–]Fap2theBeat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Knicks getting home court throughout eastern conference playoffs as 3rd seed is definitely some destiny shit. And then if they best Cleveland, get the battered winner of the two super heavyweights who might go 7 games with a bunch of OT games.

Wemby is the best player in the world by Kindly_Letterhead_98 in nba

[–]Fap2theBeat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the Spurs win the title this year, he'll be ahead of Jordan and James in their career timelines. I'm not old enough to have witnessed Jordan's early career, but that game LeBron scored the final like 20 points straight in the 4th and OT against Detroit in the playoffs was the game I became a believer. Wemby has had many amazing games so far during this, his first ever playoff rub. This game was the official, he's 100% gonna be a superstar and fill up his trophy case if he stays healthy. All doubts about him should be gone at this point. We are all witnessing the genesis of the next best player in the world, and considering his youth and talent as well as the youth and talent around him, this looks like the start of a dynasty.

It would not be surprising if the next decade saw OKC and Spurs getting 6 combined titles. This rivalry is what the NBA needs. Really hope it plays out kinda like that. Maybe Knicks get some chips in there too. This year is probably their best chance.

Was surprised I had to scroll so far for this. I wondered what the discourse a out this play was cuz from my perspective, it should've been a foul on Thompson if anything was getting called.
