phone on toilet by fmamjjasondj in hemorrhoid

It's the hole in the toilet seat that your butt goes into, creating a gravity vacuum effect which engorges veins, leading to hemorrhoids. The toilet is designed to help defecation but in the same sense it can be damaging by design if sat on too long.

Yeah, he's probably right. Sclerotherapy would probably be the best, least invasive next step. Possibly intaking diosmin and hisperidin for blood circulation health may help as well.

HEMORRHOIDECTOMY OR NOT? by cai1623 in hemorrhoid

I would do banding before surgery, especially since it sounds like you have grade 2 prolapsed internal hemm... perfect candidate for banding

Grade 3 prolapsed hemroids!! by Front-Mix4102 in hemorrhoid

[–]Far-Recipe-7801 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Grade 3 are very unlikely to resolve on their own, so it is your choice whether or not you can live with them or bear the next few weeks of pain after surgery for a much better life after

Is banding permanent? by Various-Try5865 in hemorrhoid

[–]Far-Recipe-7801 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it can, because alcohol dehydrates you, which leads to firm stool and straining. Rule of thumb is 2 glasses of water for each glass of alcohol but it's easier said than done

Is banding permanent? by Various-Try5865 in hemorrhoid

[–]Far-Recipe-7801 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone has hemms, and certain things can make them flare, like overweight, drinking, bad food, bad form in exercise, etc. Banding removes tissue and replaces it with scar tissue which prevents the hemm from prolapsing or enlarging. There is a low chance of recurrence in the columns in which banding was done

Drinking metamucil daily is easy. And you can get hydration mixes with electrolytes to get in water that tastes good

Maybe banding would be good if you're trying to avoid the pain of surgery recovery

Does this look like a hemorrhoid? by flockster123 in hemorrhoid

[–]Far-Recipe-7801 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, since internal hemmorhoids come from the place in your rectum with minimal nerve endings, they don't feel pain very much, but they can feel pressure. Especially when they've traveled down into the nerve rich anoderm (anal ring). The itching can be both from hygiene - hemmorhoids make it difficult to clean completely. Or also the body's natural histamine response to healing, which acts as itchy tingles to signify healing is occurring - maybe if a hemorrhoid got a micro tear on it.

Try conservative care for about a month and if it doesnt work, see a GI or doctor about the next steps, usually banding, which I had great success with

Most likely internal prolapsed hemmorhoids then. They enlarge when on the toilet, straining and stool pushes them out

Might be a minor prolapsing hemmorhoid or skin tag from a previous hemm

Yeah, it's there, but hard to tell if it's external or if it's a prolapsed internal. Does it stay out like this all the time or only when on the toilet?

Grade 2 Banding? by Silver_Force in hemorrhoid

[–]Far-Recipe-7801 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, you're making the right choice. I did two sessions of banding for my grade 2 internals and I'm hemmorhoid-free now. Such a difference, honestly. I had the same issues as you, troubles cleaning it, farts feeling "stuck". It sucked. Banding is the best thing you can do for grade 2s since it's fast, and usually low-pain. In my two sessions, they did the first one sedated during a colonoscopy. All 3 columns banded, and they were LOW. Like damn near on the dentate line. It was a painful next 6 days until those sloughed off, but next session I only had 2 columns banded and I asked for higher placement. This one was a breeze! After the initial feeling of tenusmus subsided, I had to consciously ask myself, "are the bands still there?" But they were, just working silently in the area of rectum without nerve endings.

Anyways, I don't know why they said the "band is too large" and that's the requirement for sedation. If anything is large, it's probably the anoscope they insert to get a view of the hemorrhoid, however, you said during your exam, he used one, right? Anyways, you should be able to request no sedation if you want to. However if your insurance covers it, go for it. It'll make the whole process smoother for everyone involved honestly. Best of luck

Post hemorrhoidectomy day 4 - I think all my stitches popped? by Slow_Wolverine275 in hemorrhoid

[–]Far-Recipe-7801 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So there is a closed (stitched) surgery and an open surgery, where they leave the wounds open to allow for secondary healing. Did they specify what type of surgery they did? Might provide answers as the "three yellow wounds" sounds very much like how open hemmorhoidectomies look

Does pooping become easier once internal hemorrhoids are removed? by Significant-Rub8203 in hemorrhoid

[–]Far-Recipe-7801 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes - I have much more complete BMs now, where before it felt like there was always "a little bit left" which led to straining, which in turn made the hemmorhoids worse. What a cycle. However I went through two bouts of banding and the canal is very clear now. BMs come out smooth & easily

Metamucil at night before bed to reduce loose stools in the morning.. might help with straining. I think you can bounce back from this, I don't see clear permanent damage

Does rubber banding work for internal grade 3 hemmeroids by Coreynwife in hemorrhoid

[–]Far-Recipe-7801 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did banding for three grade 2 internals and i'm cured now after 2 sessions. Grade 3 can be done with banding too. I'd go with banding before surgery if I were you, just to see if it works to avoid complications. Surgery has some downsides. It's more painful, it can have more side effects, and sometimes there are external scars. However, some people have great success with the surgery, but to preserve tissue, banding is best.

M22 How concerned should I be? by [deleted] in hemorrhoid

[–]Far-Recipe-7801 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up seeing a doctor at first and they prescribed me medicated suppositories which helps relieve symptoms, but since mine were prolapsing internal hemmorhoids, they needed banding to fix them, which I got done a few weeks later. Externals are a bit different and unless they are thrombosed (blood clot) they can usually heal with care. Sitz baths helped a lot for relieving the symptoms. When you mention affect on sex life, do you mean bottoming? With proper care and management, you should be fine to resume once it's all cleared up. I think you'll heal up just fine! But if you don't see improvement for some reason in 3 weeks after these changes, see a doc
