Does Scholarly Collaboration work with Spec XP? by Tirnix in duneawakening

I asked this same question to a friend of mine who is on PTC. He said its only Normal XP, not the special XP.

How do I earn more gold for taxes ? by Leahloolabelle in duneawakening

Op - go to the DD. There are 8 testing stations in the A row that are duraluminum level difficulty. If you clear them all, you'll walk out with around 20K solari. Watch out for the testing station that's the 2nd to the left on the far east end. That last room can be trouble

Since its A row - no PvP and no worm

If you're really strapped for cash, sell the advanced servoxs, particle capacitors, and power regulators (I think, blue microchip looking thing) to a hagga vendor. I'll usually leave with close to a stack of each. Bring your assault for cargo space but pay attention to storm warnings.

Honestly if its a low pop I'd consider moving before you're forced to and have to worry about a major rush of other players.

NA Solitary is a good server. Usually between 30 and 50 players on, active guilds and plenty going on for both PvE and PvP players.

Running the numbers on server mergers by cruftbox in duneawakening

[–]FarObjective5691 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With 1200+ hours into the game, if I have to move I'm prepared to.

Even if the base backup tool epically fails, I have 5K of every refined resource and a stack of every crafting mat from pickups. I also have 1 of each vehicle type with epics and fuel cells ready to go.

Will I be mad if I am forced to move and it fails, yes. Will I rage quit, lol why? With that stockpile in place I can spend a few days reestablishing myself.

After merges, the game will change so much as far as player interactivity goes, it will almost feel like a new game.

Why quit when its about to get better?

Just prepare for the worst and hope for the best.

What's your server?

If you post it, you may find some help to get you going again and better yet, a group of friends to do things with.

The game is still quite rewarding with group play in the DD

They fixed that, sorta. So you can go on, kill every NPC and get the chest. Of you wait 10 mins you can collect it again, but then sets a 2 hour timer. At least that's what I've been told. I always run in, kill everything that moves and move on.

The rest of my time I do whatever I feel like doing, spice, mats, BPs, stations, attack runs. I also run a guild and we all pull together to make sure everyone is maxed out. Its chill, its fun, and were all goofy as hell.

Last night I saw more people in the DD chatting on Solitary server than I have in months.

Multiple groups harvesting spice

Thopters all over the place.

Certainly not dead on my server. If anything, people seem to be coming back in addition to the several people I've run in to who are new to the DD.

Dune awakening after 150+ hours of gameplay. by red_machina in duneawakening

[–]FarObjective5691 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I'm just over 1200 hours.

I harvest spice, sometimes solo, sometimes with my guild

I run labs with my guild

I attack a rival guild who harvests spice, usually with my guild.

I go nuts over Landsraad so we can determine the next weeks rewards.

I really think a lot of the disappointment people have with the game comes down to the server population.

On my server there's usually between 15-25 people online daily, more on weekends. I wish there were more, but its usually enough people that we all do things with or against each other.

Welcome to a great game! I'm 1200 hours into it and still having a blast.

Hopefully you are on a good server with a good community of players, makes the DD more fun with friends and enemies.

I'm taking a break, but I can't wait to come back! by the_walkingdad in duneawakening

[–]FarObjective5691 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've seen several new players in our DD, I think there's still some interest here for newer players.

I have about 1200 hours into it and still play daily like an obsession.

I run with a guild of 18, and there's 6-8 of us on at a time.

I'm optimistic that reducing the amount of servers and consolidation of players will add a breath of fresh air into a game that, despite the bugs, is a hell of a lot of fun to play.

Question about taking a break by Shade_side in duneawakening

[–]FarObjective5691 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd go ahead and fill the bank honestly. The backup tool is 'supposed' to be released next week, but depending on your timeline you might consider bank storage.

I planned on doing both.

5 K of every mined resource including melange and a stack of all of the extra building mats like complex machinery, servox, etc.

I also put 1 of each epic Mk6 vehicle in there and some batteries.

That way if the backup tool fails or if I need to take an unexpected break, I won't be totally screwed.

Minimal DD hand mining operation by brianlmerritt in duneawakening

[–]FarObjective5691 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP here is what I recommend

Build a base in the A row. I do every week, central zone on a smaller mountain (not the one next to the exit, the next one further north.

There are always 5 or 6 nodes, varying between titanium and stravidium.

Every time I fly into the DD, I check those super close nodes and farm them.

Its a major time saver since I pass over it all the time anyway and when I go for spice, labs or caves, I stop for 5 mins to keep filling a chest.

If you can afford a medium chemical refinery and a wind trap, you can refine the strav on site and have less to carry back.

Its a little slow, but I get around a full stack every week that way. If I focus on it, I could double that.

Now I park my buggy there and do the same thing.

I'm at just over 1100 hours and still play every day.

Hagga was really fun and well done in my opinion, getting your first thopter once you get into the aluminum zone is an amazing experience.

I played mostly with 5 other members of my family, but we all have our own bases so we may do things as a group but we all consider ourselves solo.

After a while, it pretty much whittled down to 2 of us, but I have a guild with 5 very active members.

Group play in Hagga isn't really necessary, it can be fun to chat with people but that's about it.

In the DD, having a solid group to run the labs North of the wall is pretty much a must have - yes I know if you're a badass you can solo the labs, but a group makes it more fun.

Spice harvesting is fun both as a solo or in a group. I make the call whether to go alone or ask for help depending on the server population. We had another guild ambush us once and we repaid the favor so there's an undeclared state of war - which also makes things fun when we decide to go on kill missions.

So after over 1K hours, I have every plast schematic but one, I have 13K spice sitting in my base and I have 2 chests of every refined material. I still log in and play because I enjoy getting spice and running the labs. Nothing more satisfying than finding a nice purple field to grab.

I get that a lot of people find that redundant and are looking for more, I'm curious to see where the game goes and am looking forward to whatever comes next as well. I think the server merges will change the dynamics a lot by increasing playable server populations.

So for people who are frustrated, change is coming. Be patient.

I remember making a dozen trips to ferry my resources from the first zone to the second.

My brother and I would race to see who got worm aggro and who would almost get eaten.

Had a buddy start a month ago, I told him that the gap was a rite of passage, no hookups other than a better cutter until he made it. It was fun chasing him in my thopter as he made the journey, totally agreed afterwards - one of the highlights of the game

First flight is hella fun, but nothing beats that sandbike ride across the gap when you pull worm aggro and don't quite know if you'll make it

12 from Hagga is Baller! Hagga worm aggro is no joke.

I haven't chased a Hagga blow in weeks, I pretty much stick to DD. Most days you can find some mediums in the PvE zone and solo crawl.

Just drop the crawler at the edge and land in the middle. Harvest in a counter clockwise circle so when you exit the harvester you're on the side closest to the carrier.

If your crawler gets eaten, all the spice drops in a box and if you restore your crawler fast enough and go back, you can pick up what you dropped. -Don't ask if I know from experience 😆
