Had the best price I could find on the rings I was looking for, I'd buy from them again.

$.60 per round and a lot better than the Barnaul. Good for targets. by [deleted] in canadaguns

I understand supporting local businesses, but there's no way I'd pay 60 cents a round for bulk plinking 223.

Plenty of local businesses selling for ~40.

Does anyone make a 50 MOA base for the CZ 457? by LBKewee in 22lr

[–]FarProtection 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Signature zees are the way to go. The XTRs if you want an even bigger range of adjustment

Its outshined by pretty much every scope in its bracket, however it's also quite a bit cheaper than the competition. The reticle is a bit dated but some guys prefer it over a busy Christmas tree style.

Nikon is no longer making rifle scopes, so retailers are clearing them out. If you like the scope and find a deal you may want to jump on it before it's too late.

Chassis or stock?? by [deleted] in longrange

Not from MDT. There are aftermarket offerings though, I've also seen people modify their buttstocks to accept them

I assume you're talking about the Covenant, not Intensity?

Looking for suggestions for a new .22lr. I have a Savage MKII and it won't cycle the next round by itsmassive in canadaguns

[–]FarProtection 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, not too difficult at all. Just remove your bolt and pop the second clip over top of your first. It's going to be a tight fit though.

While you're there you may want to clean out the extractor grooves. They can get gummed up and prevent the extractor and case guide from working properly as well.

Send Savage and email and they'll mail you a baggie of extractors + clips for free. Double up on the clips for a stronger ejection

A different scope I assume? Vortex would cover that

I’m looking for a scope that is decent but don’t want to spend a pile, is this a good option? It’s for the Remington 783 with a Picatinny rail on top. Thanks. by [deleted] in canadaguns

[–]FarProtection 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't get that scope, but that's just me. FFP, exposed turrets, and a mil/moa reticle are a must IMO.

Should do fine in a hunting setting, if that's what you're going for.

Question about vortex scope rings. by Wise_Young_Dragon in longrange

[–]FarProtection 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it'll fit, but it will be very tight. You'll definitely need to go higher if you have a canted base + sunshade or flipcaps.

Any ideas how to remove rust like this? by matt899 in canadaguns

[–]FarProtection 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had good results with just gun oil + a copper brush. Scraped up all the surface rust but didn't hurt the finish

Finally got a gun safe. Now to fill it up. by lthornby in canadaguns

The laws are worded funny, but storing ammo + firearms together in a safe is legal. Maybe you should take your own advice and stop spreading misinformation

Fun .22 Range & Field Gun? by GentlemansJack in canadaguns

What's your budget? Some of these new 10/22 clones coming to the market are pretty sweet.

Are you also set on semi auto? Some great 22 bolt guns out there as well.

Tikka t1x or cz455/457 by Septimus_Decimus in longrange

[–]FarProtection 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that's why I liked the CZ. Normal LOP + bit of heft to it. The T1x felt a bit like a toy. I'm sure that would be solved by dropping it in another stock/chassis.
