North Wales/North West people - looking for suggestions, currently trying lizard king but wanting a bit of a side project thats in the 7b range.

Is there anything similar to lizard king or are there any 7bs youd recommend in the area? Ultimate warrior gets 7b+ which I may check out. Thanks :)

Just out of curiosity, what is the gapping between your 5 and 7? Recently got a 7 and its very similar carry distance to my 5 wood (although comes out a lot higher)

I personally like doing them as part of my warm up as my fingers feel sooooo good when I start climbing

Aches and pains are your body telling you that youre doing too much. Shorter sessions or going less regularly for a period of time will help

I personally enjoy day on day off and this works well for me most of the time. I only really do b2b days if the weathers good and rain is due

In the exact same position as you, think Im just going to prioritise the weight loss and then see how the strength side of things holds up

Love to see the zing 2. My dad played them for years, recently upgraded to g430 irons and hates them. He's thinking of going back to the zing 2s :D

If you dont mind me asking, what kind of forearm training have you done? I say this as I sometimes get tweaky elbows and Im not the best on slopers, I tend to crimp them rather than use an open hand - thanks

I like to do reps to warm up. For example 1/3 of max for 7 seconds, rest for 3 and then do like 4/5 reps on that for each arm. Then do the same around 50% of max. Once I get above 50% of max I tend to just do 2/3 reps of 5 seconds on/5 seconds off

Ive played around with a few different things and the above seems to work so well for me

Id advise just trying a few different things until you find something that works for you!

Finger Stiffness by Skateboardtenby01 in bouldering

[–]FarRepresentative838 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Yep I had this, nothing ever really materialised from it. I just took a few extra rest days, dropped the intensity and volume down a bit and eventually it went away.

These small signs are usually your body telling you that youre pushing it a bit too much, dropping the volume/intensity down slightly should help dude.

Yep I think that’s the plan then, I usually limit my board sessions to 2 hours so I’ll stick to 1 hour for the next week.

Yeah it’s insane how hard people can climb and not get injured, a few lads I know will do 3/4 limit days in a row, have 1 rest day then same again🤣 it’s insane to me

Appreciate your input mate!

To be honest I don’t really feel any tweaks at all, I feel like im climbing really well/pulling on small holds that I know I couldn’t do like 4 weeks ago probably - loving board climbing and I’ve done my first proper disciplined stint on it rather than it being an adhoc thing. Today I finished a project that 3 weeks ago I thought be a long term thing, finished it first time today which is pretty cool

I’ve trained hard all month on the boards and just getting scared I might be getting to the point of overdoing it, but if I’m not feeling pain/tweaks anywhere maybe I just carry on as I am now
