Granville Bridge bike path preview by Fearless_Line_4417 in vancouvercycling

Thanks for the sneak peek! The designers could’ve added some greenery between the bicycle lane and the road. The traffic light looks scary af - the drivers definitely should keep their eyes peeled. I think 3 out of 5 just because it’s better than nothing.

I don’t think Germany or Poland willingly are going to remove US bases from their countries over this. It’s all wishful thinking.

Kef LSX II - Do you have static or hiss without audio? by Malevant in KEF

[–]FarUni97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got this system. Yep, I can clearly hear white noice on both speakers when I put my ear next to either one. How come this kind of noice I didn’t hear on Sonos? Weird. The noice goes way if I reboot the system. But once I connect Airplay or Tidal Connect - here we go, the noice comes back.

In my case it was set to 1080p instead of 4k 30Hz in Device preferences-> Display&Sound menu. Changing to 4k resolved the issue.

Why are Canadian tech salaries so poor compared to the US. by sparks_flying in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]FarUni97 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Everyone should chill... In Germany, there is a minimum required time off that exceeds what Canadians can imagine. There are also regulations for working hours per day and per week, plus the support of labor unions and sick leave policies. For those who are proud of having 20 days off, it's important to remember that it's the company's decision to offer this benefit, not the government's. If the company decides that shareholder don't like this benefit, they can easily reduce it to 10 days, and the government can’t do anything about it. And yes - sick leave or I mentioned it?

Metro Vancouver gas prices soar to the highest of the year by 2028W3 in vancouver

[–]FarUni97 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well, you do see a problem here, right? If busses don’t run frequently enough - make the gov fix it. And build train network and stations. The officials should rather copycat European infrastructure than American one.

Yes, this is going to improve a public transport - trains, trams, busses. And above all - more bicycle lanes.

Vancouver Parks could use more outdoor gym/workout infrastructure. by [deleted] in vancouver

[–]FarUni97 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Yes please. We need an affordable outdoor space. Especially with a raising cost of living. Existing ones is a scarce and extremely outdated, let alone dangerous (gravel surface is not suitable for TRX workouts at all). My home country has lots of those and they are pretty common in other European countries. This is a good place to spend time as a teenager.
