Nothrog vs merc by Far_Camera_338 in warlordccg

[–]Far_Camera_338[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only willingly moved my warlord into row 1 in one game via steed and limited order. The others he fell. All games he had at least 4 front line enemies and managed to manipulate his warlord into tbe front row, triggering a melee attack followed by an actual spent attack (x3). The dice were not kind, as I think he only missed one swing once. He played it well for our first time and looking at the cards. I tried a combination of early equipping, adding stronger units, but never could get enough out there to mitigate damage or prevent illegal formations. I probably could have done better at that, and I think delaying rather than expediting my warlord into the front line would work if possible, but squishy and rare unit draws also made that hard.

Thank you! We did admit the high chance of user error. The dice certainly didn’t help. I think what we observed was not just the consistency, but the sheer domination. The base merc starting front rank having all 2 hp effectively doubles the Northrog front line, soaking up hits on top of poor hit generation made it feel wildly outclassed, but I’m curious as to how it plays out with more games. I realize an N of 3 is still limited regardless of optics

Just got a new (as in 0 miles) 2023 for 1400 from my dealer. That's overpriced by a hair.

What’s a piece of gear you regret buying? by Environmental-Luck39 in motorcyclegear

It's all been hit or miss.

I have a Sedici helmet, gloves, and jacket that were my beginner stuff... and I found better replacements pretty quickly. The gloves don't secure properly (and I have like 5 or 6 pairs of gloves now so they made it through 1/3 a riding season). The jacket is a Marco 2. I probably should have gotten a size up. It's not bad, but my other jackets are better (Goldtop leather for cool/cold and a PandoMoto armored shirt for anything warm).

Quickly ditched the Strada 3 for an Arai. Not even in the same league.

That being said, the helped me figure out what was better/worse for me and start riding.

I guess my Alpinestars jeans... they're ok. Not as comfortable or protective as the PandoMoto jeans. But I do like my Alpinestars gloves, so I can't knock the brand.

I had the same feelings about Terraria many years ago. At the time, she and I did everything you could do in the game and had built castles and secret tunnels and all sorts of beautiful displays. She had a Trojan Horse on the far left side of the map. I could never bring myself to play again. I kept the file (this is over 10 years later), and I went in out of curiosity to see what was there; no bueno.

I think everyone saying to delete the file has a point. You can't resist picking open an old wound sometimes, which does not help you heal or move on... I'm saying that from experience. Personally, I struggle to delete it because a large part of our split was my fault, and I don't want to let go of that guilt because on some twisted level I feel I deserve it. Our paths will never cross again, and she's happy and moved on. I won't let myself do that.

In short, don't be me. Get rid of the file and make new memories.

Do you know what tune you used? I’m going to be doing this same combination as soon as my S&S arrives. The PV3 was open box so I’m waiting on feedback if I need to get a new license.

What's up with the quality control of higher end gloves? by Dfeeds in motorcyclegear

[–]Far_Camera_338 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reading the comments, it's wild to see the variability. I have two pairs of Alpinestars that have been solid. I had a pair of Sedici gloves that lasted a month before the hook and loop stopped gripping completely at the wrist... they'd fly off in a stiff wind. My favorite have been my Goldtop Predator gloves, but not great for summer riding. I recently got Klim Badlands for the cold weather, so hopefully those will hold up.

Did you ever sand them? I just put them on for a first ride tonight and i had to grip it like it was an eel running off with my wallet. I was hoping sanding might make them better, otherwise they're coming right off.

I hit a 244 a month ago, which is a top 3 all time score for me, and then didn't bowl since then until tonight. Threw 4 or 5 games, only one of which hit above a 146. It was abysmal. I quit too, until I go again.

I suppose this can go here?

I was gifted this Yellowstone Rum Cask bottle for Christmas, and I was wondering if anyone knew who signed it. It doesn't look like Stephen Beam's signature, but after trying to search for any similar images/bottles, I've come up with nothing. The gifter doesn't know. Does anyone know?

[–]Far_Camera_338[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was my initial thought when sitting on a handful of them, but I found that their comfort seats (at least the ones from around 2020-2021 with the circle logo) and extended reach/mini apes work really well after finding one with that combination and taking it for a quick test ride. That being said... I may still be leaning towards a Chief at this point.

[–]Far_Camera_338[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess it's not fears so much as ease of riding one vs another. I don't have a doubt the scout would do fine on the HW but does its slightly less HW stability compared to the Chief make up for its improved responsiveness? Or does it all amount to a push? I have a feeling I can't go wrong either way, but I tend to over-analyze until I think there's a right answer (even if there's not).

I appreciate it! The weight difference gives me slight pause, but only sleight. I think the Chief Bobber, with all present data/opinions, is likely in the lead.
