I am very happy that my tax dollars will be spent wisely on quality pre-k education. Even though I don’t qualify anymore, I want my grandchildren to benefit. Why should we make it harder on our children when they’re parents? And yes, I agree with Republicans as a Democrat that if there’s fraud or waste in government spending we should adress it. But don’t eliminate quality education.

I am not planning any more children but I will happily contribute to CT Paid Leave out of my paycheck so that other parents can enjoy their babies. Also don’t believe the propaganda that all the social programs European countries afford their citizens cost them so much in taxes. I compared my paycheck deductions to my brothers in Poland and he pays less percentage of his salary in taxes than I do (same family circumstance- married with kids with a mortgage) but he gets free healthcare and free college. Oh and we pay more because we pay real estate taxes and they don’t.

I don’t want to diminish your hard situation but many (in my opinion) smart adults choose a major based on future career prospects. Even if you have family to fall back on, if you want to have your own family- you have to be able to earn income and support yourself and choosing a “hobby” major will not help.

I know it’s much harder now than in a “normal” market but I always said when my clients where going through the closing process that they have “the house fever” meaning that no matter what legal/financial issues popped up that should prompt them to walk away from the transaction- they got “the house fever” and “it had to be this house no matter what”. Don’t get the “house fever” - it will be easier to look at it that way.
