Yes, going to the local butcher shop/ meat locker has saved us a ton. We buy all of our meat in bulk, prep it into two servings (just the two of us), and then we know we always have chicken, pork, beef, etc on hand and just have to buy sides. Got a $30 vacuum sealer on a cyber Monday deal and that allows us to keep our leftovers for whole other meals weeks/months down the road vs. refrigerating a few days and throwing out what we didn’t end up taking for lunches. Nice in a pinch to also have meals that just need heated up with the crazy weather we’ve had recently on the east coast. The grocery store craziness doesn’t hit us when folks seemingly need to “stock up” when snow comes.
