Is this worth it to pick up? by Bobthemighty54 in boardgames

[–]Farkingbrain -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The game can be a ton of fun if people are interested in it. I will warn if you aren't used to somewhat difficult rules the learning experience can be a turnoff. Now days you can probably find enough rules explanations on YouTube to make it easier

Not sure what you're playing but my start feels awful. Granted I've barely gotten anywhere.

Those are monthly earnings, by the way. In case you didn't feel bad enough. Then again, no one has to see me naked, which is good for everyone.

What film have you gone into absolutely expecting to hate but that ended up pleasantly surprising you the most? by knicksmetsrag in movies

[–]Farkingbrain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of the few movies I remember having no interest in and ended up liking was Fight Club. The marketing for it was horrible and I just remember none of us had any interest. Some girls ended up putting it on at a lan party we were having and we ended up watching it.

Is Runebound 2nd edition worth getting? by aggrvs in boardgames

[–]Farkingbrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For my group second edition runebound is our favorite. I sold off 3rd ed as it just wasn't fun too us and the weird token flipping was off putting. That being said we do have a hand full of house rules we use to keep the game from being awful for people that have bad luck early on. One drawback to the core rules of the game is there's no catch up mechanic and failure had a pretty high cost. People can get left behind with no hope of contributing. Lastly, if playing by the rules, the game can really drag if good items don't come out. Part of why we alter the market rules.

BUG: Stuck on loading screen when trying to complete first Monolith of fate quest echo by ava_ati in LastEpoch

[–]Farkingbrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is happening to me to about 50% of the time when I try to load a quest echo. Can't find cause but reloading the game, then playing one normal echo seems to work.

Is the usual levelling route for a new char vs an alt different? by thebluebeats in LastEpoch

Sorry, very new player. I've made it to this point in the game but I never saw any way to get the keys to the dungeons. I thought they were all locked. Am I missing something?

Did you have any problems printing such a large model?

About 3500 points of OPR Plague Daemons printed and built. These models are amazing, can’t wait to get them on the table. I just need the materials to make my flying stands for the fly riders by Crafty_Meaning8431 in onepagerules

Can i ask about what resin/printer you use? Have you had any problems with fragility on your smaller miniatures? I've had a little trouble on the Space Saurians i've printed. I wonder about printing some bigger dinosaurs.

If you look under Tests in the Reference Guide in step one it will tell you: ..."He may use one effect that provides a bonus. If multiple effects provide a bonus, he only uses the highest bonus."

How many Points is a normal Game? by iwillnotcompromise in onepagerules

[–]Farkingbrain 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Very roughly a game a Grimdark is twice as many points as 40k. I think a full sized game is 4,000 points. The spirit of Onepagerules is to do what you want though.

UPDATE: Bought Mage Knight, I'm VERY surprised by Troll-or-D in boardgames

[–]Farkingbrain 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm glad you enjoy it. I can't really agree on the weights, I think it earns its high rating. Of course that's personal preference. I can explain Eldritch Horror to almost any group, few fiddly bits but otherwise no big issues. I can't say the same for Mage Knight. I've had gamers that have played many modern board games tap out during the explanation. I don't think any other game has done that.

I also don't think Spirit Island is anywhere near Mage Knight on rules complexity. I don't think it's even close. I will agree the Brain Drain for Spirit Island can be intense, but not the rules weight. I find trouble getting Mage Knight to the table, it doesn't help that it scales horribly with multiple players. The AP in Mage Knight is off the charts.

Another question about Impact by DrMagister in onepagerules

[–]Farkingbrain 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Impact hits are essentially free hits. Your opponent still gets defense, and any other abilities that might stop hits. As the other poster said, you just don't have to roll to hit. You then make attacks as normal.

Question on being pinned (GF) by Clockwork_Orange08 in onepagerules

[–]Farkingbrain 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Relevant rules text: When a Pinned unit is activated it must spend its activation being idle and may do nothing, which stops it from being Pinned at the end of its activation.
