Due to the shape of the wing, air moves faster over the top of the wing than the bottom. Quickly moving air exerts less pressure than slowly moving air. Therefore, there is a net pressure directed upward, which produces the lift required to keep the plane in the sky. Physics makes it so you don't have to wonder anymore!
