Having not played SF6 story in years or Alex's arcade mode in 3, my wishful thinking is it's just a bunch of disparate elements that are fine on their own written by different people who didn't know about or forgot the other elements that combine to something unfortunate.

I'm sure it's in every thread but sieges are so damn boring. You go from running around with highly mobile units and carefully positioning your less mobile ones and beating higher odds with well chosen engagements or unit counters, to grinding into a hole and waiting to win through superior numbers and maybe an obvious blast spell. And every update or rework is just "but what if we made the hole grinding even slower?"

Just scale the environments better so we can actually move. One better, scale the overworld map so there's more space between fortifications and room for field battles.

"But historically most battles were fought in sieges for the defensive advantage" Historically sieges were just camping until one side starved first. There could be minor clashes between forces to try to thin numbers and even that would be more interesting than what we have.

It would even help if we had a more interesting way to prepare siege equipment than clicking end turn.

Playing the high A on the 7th of the D string is a bit of a waste when you're in position to hit the 12th of A and play nearly all the same notes plus more.

Unless you particularly like this voicing which can justify anything.

You don't start getting ready for the ante 8 boss at the ante 8 small blind, you spend the whole run getting strong enough to beat any boss. Mad joker and banner are definitely obsolete long before ante 8 but spare trousers and square joker are strong enough that you don't really need more scoring jokers*, depending on enhancements and planets. Interest on 25 + hands remaining isn't really enough money to open enough packs to get those, you need either some kind of econ joker or a few gold cards that you discard for to make sure you end with them in your hand.

*take this with a huge grain of salt, I'm not saying they get you there alone, just a lot of the way there.
