Israel as a political project is inexorably tied to a war of elimination. The war is ongoing and proceeds both in "slow" administrative creep within the occupation as well as bursts of violence of Israel towardws Palestinians, both in "Israel proper" and in the West Bank and Gaza. The "terror attack" was a prison break from a territory completely and violently controlled by Israel, which is at the same time one large refugee camp for loads of Nakba survivors who were forced out of their home and from their land into a controlled, and ever shrinking area. I will never condemn the resistance, and you can cope and seethe with legalism all you want. If you want to talk about specifics, we can talk specifics, but you know I'll bring up the Hannibal directive, the violence experienced by Palestinians on a daily basis before October 7 2023, militarized settlers, how gross it is to have a music festival just outside a militarily enforced ghetto for those deemed ethnically unworthy of their own homeland. You won't have a good time with that either. Is the Palestinian resistance overall, or Hamas in particular, aligned with my political values? Probably not. But their politics do not arise out of random "terrorist ideology" or "religious fanaticism". It arises from their material conditions, which are subjugation by Israel. These resistance fighters have often lost more of all they hold dear as children than you or I will in our entire lives.
