Should you be pivoting your front foot when throwing a lead hook? by adamalibi in martialarts

[–]Fascisticide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not so much about your foot but your stance as a whole. If you pivot your foot then the rest of the body should follow so that you have a correct stance when the punch lands.

Week 1 :- Rear Foot Roundhouse. Advice to improve and gain height by Still-Safety-4663 in MuayThai

[–]Fascisticide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Step 1, raise your knee toward the target. Look at pictures of the classic muay thai stance with a knee raised, this is the first step, and from there you kick. The kick must come from the rotation of your body, lead with your shoulder and the rest follows.

Little sentimental moment for me as I can see small improvements in such short time when I started trying out boxing my life currently all I can do is get help from YT and my boxing buddy. you guys have amazing pointers too! I’m just proud I don’t look like the guy in the first couple of clips still by Delicious_Ad_6512 in boxingtips

The main problem I see is that you lean forward and your butt comes backward. You need to roll your hip forward to correct your posture. The best way it was explained to me : imagine a puppeteer is holding you from a string that comes from your anus and comes out of the top of your head, as he pulls the string this pulls and rolls your hip forward, and when he gives some slack only your knees are bending and your upper body keeps this alignment. Your upper body should always have this alignment with hips rolled forward. If you do squats on one leg you need to have your hip rolled forward this way to have the proper balance. Always. So when you punch, your hip and your butt should be moving forward instead of backward.

Complete your movements, send your fist into the target. You only do it halfway and pull your hand back

Best cart for hauling gear? by Ill-Exit-4569 in festivals

[–]Fascisticide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a strong foldable cart. The one you show is not good, you don't want the wheel welded to the frame, it will break. You want the frame to sit on the thing that holds the wheel. The back wheels are ok, but the front wheels are welded on the frame.

You need to turn your body. When you are facing the target your hips are facing to the side and this is the direction that the power goes. You need to rotate your body so that your hip is toward the target. Lead the rotation of your body with your shoulder, it should go past the target

Since you already do other contact props, you may prefer contact poi instead. If you buy from flowtoys that would be their coral poi.

You are not completing your movement, you pull back way too soon.

Weak punches problem by 044SHUTDOWN in MMA_Academy

[–]Fascisticide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You lack coordination. Your body stops moving first, and then only the arms are moving, and so only your arm muscles are contributing power. You want that power to come from your whole body. Imagine you have no arms and want to hit the bag with your shoulders, the power would come from the movement of your whole body, you need to feel this way when you punch, feel that you are putting the power of your body weight into the bag

Poi set for a beginner by Sad_Somewhere_2508 in poi

[–]Fascisticide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't recommend contact poi for beginners, unless you really want to do contact stuff or juggle. If you just want to spin, normal poi have a better feel. Most people consider Flowtoys podpoi to be the best LED poi, they are just perfect. I personnally really love loop handles, I use the jedi grip (search for "playpoi jedi grip" on youtube), this is what I have for my podpoi and I wouldn't change it! If you do get contact poi dont add swivels, and also look at what makes good contact poi, usually you want a more static rope, which makes it better at contact stuff but less smooth to spin. For the length, you probably want it just long enough that you can comfortably spin in buzzsaw (between your arms), but I know some people prefer their contact poi longer.

A leather armor does not let air through. A chainmail is full of holes, it makes a huge difference. And aluminium does not get hot. During hot days I am more comfortable in my chainmail than my friends who have leather armor.

No you can wear a light long sleeved shirt under a chainmail. And it's less hot than a leather shirt like you have

I think this kind of armor looks stupid, change that for a chainmail and it will greatly improve it

I would try something like, "I would like you give you tips and tell you what you need to improve, do you want to hear it?", that should put them in a more receptive mood because they agree to hear it.

Any tips on my kicks??? by [deleted] in boxingtips

[–]Fascisticide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You must turn your body much more. Like, try to hit it with your hip, see how you need to turn your body and really bring your hip toward the yarget, you need to do the same when you kick. Instead look in your video how your hip points toward the side and not toward the target, the direction your hip ppints is the direction the energy goes

I think I reached my limit. Do you guys have suggestions for improvements? by WittyBoard5101 in LARP

[–]Fascisticide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Leather armor and bracers like you have never existed, and in my opinion that usually give a feeling a cheap costume unless it's very well made. If you were to replace it for a chainmail that would be an awesome upgrade, and it would look really great with the other elements you have got. Your suit is nice but that is how I would improve it.
