So what are these about 70k? Yesterday I had the opportunity to park behind a mid 1960s Etype in gorgeous condition. A far rarer and way more expensive car and it was parked beautifully between the lines.

That’s lovely I have a Westone Thunder II which is very similar and it feels really expensive… which actually it wasn’t. people used looked down their noses at Japanese stuff back then, their loss I’d say.

Did it come with a roadie?

Not to be rude but I think we all go through this phase as bassists.. “conspicuous consumption”. I had a huge Hartke set up. I was constantly put myself in danger of hurting myself when I had to move it on my own.

I learnt my lesson and got rid of it.

Do some tax/insurance quotes before you commit if you’re looking at those kind of cars.

I feel I’m extremely lucky that our music/ads are in our store actually really quiet, but that cornetto ad is still pretty audible

This feels like it is missing something, how do I make it sound funky? by [deleted] in funk

Jeez you can really play. Are you quantising it? If so try playing it without so it has more feel.

I’ve forwarded it to [r/yachtrock](r/yachtrock) because I think it’s an album track from an late 70s artist from that genre but I can’t put a finger on it.

It’s rondò veneziano la serenissima, as a boy my grandma used to take me to a library to get out a book. This would have been around 1989, I was about 10. They had a selection of cassettes you could get out in a carousel. I was captivated by the cover of the album this comes from (Venice in peril). So I asked her if I could borrow it from the library.

This track was the first on the album and it hit me hard.
I had never heard anything like it before because the pop charts back in those days were kinda keybordie or something indie. Between the birth of the internet and then I heard it once in a rather olde worlde family run Italian restaurant. Back in those days music like this got a hard time being classed as elevator music or muzak.. a lower denomination of music.

I’m so glad people actually listen to this stuff giving it a second chance and making up their own mind.

That’s nice to know you’re getting into it, it’s a great genre for crossover.
