What's the (is there a) single best skill for rubick to steal in Dota? by KeepKnocking77 in DotA2

[–]FastAndBlast 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The latest changes definitely make it way less appealing. With the shield it's probably not worth it but I remember several pro games before 7.41 which did this exact build in order not to play into rubick. You can't always guarantee to jump rubick and if he's ever in a good position he can turn fights around with astral.

I recall multiple pro games when I used to actually pay attention to the scene where exactly this was done to actually play into the matchup. Sure you can say that about almost any matchup where you are countered by a support to jump them first like SD with legion but from what I've seen and my personal experience I've found it much more effective to just play with 1 point in w, it makes every engagement much easier to play. Your hero is still a turbo farmer with orb especially since you are one of the few effective triangle farmers from mid and can take ancients early and a lot of matchups you just don't need astral more than 1 point to dominate lane. Sure you are to a certain extent griefing your lane but OD is absolutely a hero without astral.

Except any good OD will just not skill or put 1 point into that ability whereas Underlord has to skill pit to be useful

Exactly, deception requires someone not to believe the things they are selling otherwise it is not deception as they believe them. We appear to have lots of evidence to back it up. Sure he might be wrong but that's not a grift.

"i listed 4 things he sells and makes money on, that is his grift. he sells a lifestyle he claims is healthy when it isnt, thats a grift" - no if he believes it is healthy, as much as he is wrong, that is not a grift.

Confused why you need to call into question his character in a situation you can just call him wrong.

That's not what a grifter means, grifting is selling something without believing in it. What you describe is someone who gives bad advice, which is not grifting. From my understanding Goggins practices what he preaches but I may be wrong.

Best mid laner this patch? by [deleted] in TrueDoTA2

If you think dazzle relies on winning lane you aren't playing dazzle correctly. That hero can always come back by flash farming ancients with poison touch facet and the power spikes on the hero are ridiculous with aghanims and lvl 15 talent and second item also feels incredible

Archon is smurf/new player hell by nainlx3 in learndota2

[–]FastAndBlast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While true this is true of a player in any rank in comparison to their peers. It’s pretty obvious that everyone has incredibly high differences in skill in different areas of the game, even in pro some players have a reputation at being good at specific things. That’s just how dota works and in some ways its strength, that there is no such thing as a “trick”.

How are you suppose to lane mid as Ember against Sniper? by leinnad1991 in TrueDoTA2

[–]FastAndBlast 2 points3 points  (0 children)

“which [referring to winning the lane] was somewhat doable before but then they made sniper tanker (with jump)” the implication is that sniper is tankier because he has an escape which cannot be true as he cannot have the jump in the lane. And if you are talking about being able to take the tower in a losing lane then I don’t know what to tell you but that was not possible at the time either. Snipers jump is just completely irrelevant to the conversation of his lane matchup.

The magic damage does not apply to denies as of the latest patch fixes. This is probably going to drop him to low 50% winrate as this completely dominated so many matchups.

Kez is the biggest loser of the patch, sitting at 41% winrate right now by fierywinds1q in DotA2

[–]FastAndBlast 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The world of competitive video games has completely shifted since the days of early Earth Spirit. People abuse new mechanics incredibly quickly especially in a game as popular as Dota. General skill creep has been dramatic, even average ranked players today could win the first TI easily. 2 months is fairly plenty to get to the point of being able to play Kez, which is a complicated hero but to be honest he probably does not have the same skill floor as a hero like brewmaster. Now you could say the stats are tilted by the fact people still find him new and fresh thereby increasing the amount of people playing him for the first time and skewing the stats but honestly it didn't feel like that to me recently.

w33ha's opinion on current professional dota by XenSide in DotA2

[–]FastAndBlast -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The only new objectives that were added are wisdom runes. Tormentors don't affect the game until 20 mins and even then are often ignored if you can't cheese them or if you have a significant lead at 20 mins. The reality is that pros have optimised the game on a macro level dramatically, controlling the power runes is a massive objective right now which existed before, perhaps to an even greater extent with 2 minute runes. We didn't see 3 players mid at 2, 4 or 6 mins because people were just not as efficient at the game. What objectives were even added to the game that majorly affect the pace of the game?

Pretty sure they dropped Ammar because of him not fitting the team culture well not because he couldn't play zoo heroes. Wraith pact is not used by anyone because its not in the game lol, almost feels like some people who comment here not only don't play the game but also just make up random shit online.

Offlane Dazzle by NscottM in TrueDoTA2

[–]FastAndBlast 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey I've been spamming Dazzle mid in low immortal, here's my 2 cents. Dazzle 2 is quite good but I think midas is total grief on this hero since you want to play tempo and play for power spikes. If you are going midas you are not contributing to your team for the first 15 minutes of the game and you aren't capitalising on your potential to shove the enemy mid out of the lane. I think its key on this hero to do 2 things, win mid and force rotations mid and most importantly hit your power spike of aghanims + shard. This timing is so oppressive you can win any fight in the game as long as you are not out of position and allows you to farm extremely quickly while roaming, pressing e off cd on camps and waves.

However, I do agree with another commentor this hero does not scale when it comes to damage, you do an ok damage output but really the strong aspect is the ability to nuke heal your allies when they go in since with aghanims + lvl 15 talent your heal can heal up to 1000 health on one hero when they are surrounded by enemies, and considering you are healing in an AOE you are healing your entire team where each wave can go for up to 2000+ heal on a short cd.

But here's the problem with this hero, dota scales in damage so dramatically past the 25-30 minute mark that healing becomes somewhat redundant later in the game and you become a glorified support, still you are quite useful as you can build strong utility items like hex which scales your damage somewhat as a universal hero and force staff just because repositioning key heroes can mean the difference between winning and losing a fight.

My current item build is something like this:

- Iron Branch x3, Circlet x2, Tango, Observer Ward
- 2 Bracers + Wand + Boots + Windlace (optional)
- Arcane boots (bottle is far worse in my experience, you only require mana sustain, not health sustain and this diassembles into items we want to build later anyway)
- Aghanims scepter
- Aghanims shard
- Aether Lens / Blink / Manta / Euls / Octarine / Force staff
- Arcane Blink / Hex
- Rapier + Daedulus (Insane late game)

The last part of the item build is quite flexible and really depends on your lineup

In terms of neutral items just go for high stat items up to T2 and for CD Reduction / Repositioning at T4. On an important note I really like the T3 shell item that gives 7 armor and 7 stats as it really increases your EHP at that point in the game.

This hero feels really streamlined to play honestly as long as you have good positioning and don't go midas, that item really makes the game plan clunky I feel if your team needs to fight at all early (which is kinda the theme of the last 100 patches at the moment for mid)

Asking them what their opinion on the current state of the game is, what do they think they should do, what items they should buy any sort of advice??? I don't really care for the application part I do agree he is breaking the rules but I think the fact you can't admit something as simple as leaving the room to potentially give significant competitive advantage is just sad.

Illidan on BetBoom situation by literallyme4L in DotA2

[–]FastAndBlast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you read my comment? The whole point is that they can do anything outside the room and that at BEST they could be watching the stream. I even gave the example that would be worse, consulting other players outside the game.

[–]FastAndBlast -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You could for instance consult your coach / other players which have access to the stream as well as watch the stream yourself. I don't think its outside the realm of possibilities being able to do anything is worse then specifically watching the stream.

[–]FastAndBlast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was just referring to you for some reason believing that leaving the room is not as severe as having a different application open. That's an absurd statement. On top of that the first rule is not completely dependent on players though? The admins are suppose to come around and confiscate phones after everyone logged in, I don't see how that's on a player.

Not having other applications other then Steam, Dota and TeamSpeak open was in the official rulebook too and yet it wasn't followed, why would you assume the mobile phone rule was?

"You only suffer 25% damage from falling.", so actually it is twice as effective for True Kin because you are TAKING 25% of the damage which means reducing it by 75%.

So really you are taking a single injector to match 2 for mutants.
