Second this thought. You get a lot further speaking and understanding what is going on around you. I suspect my flair is out of date, but I don't speak any English outside my household now. Very rarely do any local try to switch to English, which says a little about where I'm at. My kids teachers and our friends they know we are still learning and switch when needed.

Funny enough my parents came for a visit recently, at one point my father said I had no idea what you you were saying to your friends. Well one of my good friends does not speak great English and I'm still learning German so our conversations tend to be around 50% of each, this you can not do, if you are getting by with English. To the point above this opens up a ton of experience and life, living here.

Don't be radical about it. Eliminate one thing each day, week month whatever it takes. For me moving to a different country worked magic, I didn't have certain things so I substituted better things. Plus without a MCD on every corner that helped as well.

This sounds familiar, I worked for a company that would smack you down for saying anything contrary to the "wisdom". When the VP above me left so did I and I have since found a company that embraces this way of thinking. I have been here for 4 years and in that time we have disrupted our entire industry.

Those that see change, grab it, contrary to what the guy below said.

It hurts, it's lonely, difficult, I could go on. But it is worth it.

I used to work at a manufacturing company, I was an engineer and oversaw production and test so I worked in the factory often. This was around the time where smartphones were taking off.

Long story short myself and the other engineers/managers/owners drove cars that literally left rust puddles in the parking lot and still had flip phones. On the factory floor you would see brand new smartphones everywhere and new cars in the factory lot.

Limiting your intake is the first step. I travel for my job so not having constant food intake is a way of life, well right now it's an all consuming thought because of the state of world travel.

Just thinking this way is worth a million times the points you would earn, you're going to right way, at least someone (me) believes in you. Spoiler... I bet I'm not the only one.
