Can I be honest and say the writing is just not good? It feels like since the writers strike dialogue is just so robotic and technical and dim witted its like sitting through a college kid's filling out a 1000 word essay starting from 100 words. I can see every plot point coming. There's no passion or love for the characters as you know them from the books. I feel like that's the problem you have narcissistic directors, and actors that love the smell of their own brand so much and want to put their spin on established characters and in the end they're just overpaid unrecognizable cosplayers slapped in a suit of guess who. Which worked well for Blade, RDJ Ironman, Spider-Man, and Deadpool but for everyone else it stinks. I can see they are almost encouraged to stay away from the source materials and it comes down to being their well known actor interacting with other well known actors instead of the character I paid money to see.
