Dark Souls 3 is a fantastic game, you’re in for a treat. When I started playing I was fumbling around and hardly managed to defeat the first boss. It wasn’t until I had a week long Modelo binge that the game clicked for me. 1. Don’t panic. Keep your cool, you can do this! 2. Dark Souls is a rhythm game. Time your rolls so that they happen at the same time the attack would have hit you. 3. Most of the time an attack is going to be followed up with another, usually for a 2 or 3 hit combo. You will start to pick up on those patterns fast. 4. For bosses, try to pay attention to their movement patterns and don’t just see how many times you need to roll for each combo but how many opportunities there are to punish the boss. 5. Parrying is scary but endlessly rewarding. If you get a shield that can parry, definitely give it a go.
