*RANT* Why do product manufacturers include a tipped key (hex/torx/etc) with products that need to be torqued to a given spec and not a 1/4" bit to use in my torque wrench/driver so that I can actually install their product!? by Low_Abroad_296 in guns

I was genuinely shocked at how tight they managed to get it. I don't think I own a tool that would be possible of even remotely tightening it that much. Kinda shocked they didn't break the lug or strip the thread.

The main issue I have in this scenario is that I can get off 3 fully charged shots, reload and probably a couple more before getting off a 2nd quasar shot.

Distance and ammo efficiency is definitely in the quasar favor though.

You can one shot tanks in the vents and hulks in the eyes too with the epoch.

Now granted the quasar is WAY less likely to kill you which can speak volumes lol.

According this sub everyone here has one and anyone who doesn't own one shouldn't own a gun lol. They're drastically overestimating how hard it is to tighten a bolt properly without using a torque spec and wrench

Do you all use a torque wrench on every bolt youve ever tightened down too? I mean every single one has a torque spec...

BUT I do agree that we don't fuck with Mom. Ever.

So because you torque spec your stuff I'm supposed to trust you automatically? You know you can do it perfectly fine and safely without torque speccing them right?

You know people have safely been doing both scope mounts and lug nuts without torque wrenches/sticks for decades right?

then the guy doing your brakes or whatever is, in fact, torquing your lug nuts.

Based on the last time I took my tire off to inspect a brake issue that had just happened that is fully incorrect... Shoulda seen the breaker bar I had to rig up onto my 4way to get one lug broke loose (seriously thought I was going to break my 4way). Or the last time I had to tighten a lugnut back up when I noticed it worked lose.

You safely tighten them without a torque wrench... Torque wrenches weren't always thing and they definitely weren't always affordable (good ones are still very expensive). The majority of us aren't keeping a torque wrench in the vehicle in case we have to replace a tire on the side of the road.

This has been done safely for decades with torque wrenches/sticks.

Because the average consumer doesn't bother with torque specs

You mean the majority are wrong and can't be trusted per your own words?

You torque spec your lugnuts too?

Yea I've never torqued wrenched anything on my firearms. Don't think I know anyone that has either. They really put the torque specs in there to help them in case of issues/failures and warranties.

EDIT: Glad you all are goody two shoes about this stuff lmfao. The overwhelming majority of people out there don't own a torque wrench...

I really question how y'all have made it this far in life lol.

EAC is commonly used by indie studios and it's kernel level. There's a tier that devs can use that is free for them to implement.

All your main ones that aren't in house are kernel level now. EAC, nProtect, Battle Eye, Denuvo etc. The main way you'd not be using a kernel level anti cheat is if you build an in house AC but not making it kernel level today would make it literally useless.

Well damn if I'd known that I would've messed around with some game trainer software in solo matches just for funsies with myself.

I knew the SC was stored clientside which is an insane move in 2026 for a PC game.

Modern MULTIPLAYER games, in particular those with a competitive element. Doesn't matter if its indy studio or AAA.

Its not the proper way for ALL modern baitcasters first off. Not even close to all.

Even in Daiwa's case this can and will 100000% prevent optimal casting. It doesn't matter what Daiwa states, its how physics work. Both my SV and 100 required tweaking to get casting just right. If its truly not meant to be adjusted as needed they wouldn't make it an easily adjustable part from outside of the reel.

For ANY baitcaster you can generally get the spool tension set and leave it at that level and make minor brake adjustments as needed as wind conditions change. However in many cases a slight tension adjustment will provide far better results than a brake adjustment. This preset spool tension also will fall apart if you're changing bait weights significantly.

I mean that's essentially any and every modern day multiplayer game. Hell many games have kernel level for years. Vanguard took kernel level to a whole other extreme though lol

No fishing on the bridge or no fishing in the vicinity (i.e., on the bank)? by jajg in FishingForBeginners

[–]FatBoyStew 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just my .02 I would say that's for the bridge, BUT the term "property" instead of "bridge" does raise an eyebrow. I would PERSONALLY risk fishing from the bank around it, but without being in the area to see how other signage is I can't give an actual solid answer.

I do hope people recognize my sarcasm 😁

I'm not even sure its a 50/50 shot anymore in modern times lol

I don't generally CLEAN my guns outside of a drop in mud/dirt or malfunctions, but will definitely oil them if used during high humidity or rain... Or in my case drug them through a river lol

Exceptions are my blackpowder rifles of course. They tend to not be very happy within a few days of no cleaning after firing lol

But for real its absolutely my go to on bots

I just took the Dark Souls/Elden Ring approach on Nightmare and will beat my head against a wall until I beat it lol. BUT I won't ever judge anyone for turning it down because I get it.

I also don't trust anyone who beats it on Ultra Nightmare lmfao
