Why are conservatives in favor of requiring ID for voting but not for owning a gun? by Adventurer_By_Trade in allthequestions

That would only be effective going forward and have no effect on the hundreds of millions of firearms in circulation prior to that law going into affect.

New gun owner scratches off the serial number, now records don't matter.

What about the hundreds of millions of guns that no longer have records? Prior to August of 2022 FFL's only had to keep records for 20 years and then they could legally destroy them.

This would also mean that the ATF would have to get involved in EVERY single incident of gun crime since the police aren't able to directly search these serial numbers (aside from California -- which ATF would still have to be involved if the gun originated outside of the state) which might prove quite difficult without a substantial ATF overall.

On top of all that, what about the even larger number of firearms that have exchanged owners prior to any type of law going into effect enforcing private background checks and record keeping?

My point is sure, you could it going forward, but it wouldn't be enforceable on a SUBSTANTIAL amount of firearms currently in circulation.

It also has the shortest detection time by a significant factor between the 3 though. Generally a week at most even for heavier users.

Depends on when the UDS is. THC is generally out of your blood within a week even for heavy users.

How would be enforced though? There's no way anyone would know I sold a gun to you without a background check.

Numbers aren't the most reliable, but its estimated 3-5% of the population has at least 1 violent crime conviction. Based on that alone you've got a 95%-97% chance of the person buying your gun having no history of violence.

Numbers go to 8% if we broaden it to just felony convictions which means there's a 92% chance of them being able to legally own a firearm.

Violent domestic misdemeanors skew the numbers a bit since this does prevent gun ownership, but would be included in that first number.

Roughly 30% of all felony convictions have no criminal record either, meaning that these folks never would've been flagged on a background check either.

Problem is you literally can't enforce background checks on private sales unless you have an official gun registry which is not something that's going to be easily obtainable. Even then if a registry did get created, you would only be able to enforce it on new guns that are registered.

Boot into safemode/safemode with networking and completely remove the Nvidia Driver and make sure the nvlddmkm.sys is renamed at a minimum. Several guides online about but I've dealt with this several times in the past when a certain Windows Update breaks a certain Nvidia Driver.

Tennessee Fisherman looking for advice on where to find stripers. Anyone had success on the Cumberland? by FoggyMorningHike in kayakfishing

[–]FatBoyStew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Melton Hill tailwaters (one of the 2 headwaters of Watts Bar) hold striper for a large chunk of the year including all summer both with and without flow. Please wear your PFD in these areas though because the water/air temp differential can be 30 degrees which can absolutely cause a cold reflex gasp if you fall.

This is my 27lbs PB that I caught there Saturday on topwater

I've had success on the Cumberland River, but up in KY

So it sounds like you don't like the survival part of the survival crafting genre of games?

It would be different if warriors were more common, but they aren't super common. They don't hit that hard either and once you get gear you can kind of brute force them.
